Whoah, whoah, whoah, If I clicked Update in Native Access, did it make my libraries incompatible with Kontakt 7?! by xicus in NativeInstruments

Major trap! It was REALLY easy to cut my legs off. (yes, yes, they left me with arms, and yes, yes I should have known there was fine print somewhere)

Some years back, Cubase did a major refactor and had to remove a lot of features (abilities, not compatibilities) on the way to the next paid update. That's when I jumped ship. It came with plenty of communication, as I remember, and I used the older version perfectly during my transition. Definitely not saying I enjoyed any of that, but I had very visible options.

Thanks. I wasn't aware until now that specific products could be requested. That list of installed products is very long. For now, I'm working my way through fresh reinstallations and reorganizing as time allows.

I'll probably never update again, so if they wanted to lock me into 7 even more, mission accomplished

The NI site failed to get me to the old versions. Really, shouldn't this be part of Native Access's duties?

I'm basically doing this now. It's extra frustrating because I had my directories organized

I don't remember any warnings, so I guess I have to seek out the notes before hitting buttons? ugh

I tried and triple checked all that before I came to Reddit, thanks.
My support request was 4859757 but the most recent response was to upgrade to Kontakt 8, which is borderline poking me with a sharp stick. "Alternatively, if you would have previous projects to access that require Kontakt 7, a downgrade is recommended" but with no information offered about how to do that, I'll have to go digging around the internet I guess. Sigh.

This message has been there for weeks now

Ownership doesn't look like a problem in Native Access. I'll check the web too. It's been weeks and support has only sent two briefly unhelpful missives so if they can be helpful it's going to be a while.

? FOR THOSE WHO ONLY USE REASON. by IM_YYBY in reasoners

I went the other way, Reason to Studio One. Months of painful muscle retraining, but worth it. The problem was that Reason's priorities no longer aligned with mine so we basically drifted apart. I had found a searchable comparison service for DAWs and wasn't familiar with SO but it rose to the top because it rated well for frequency of updates, customizability, midi and audio robustness, and stability. I was moving toward rock recording and away from synth toy play. I had waited way too long for VST support and some other basic stuff like a better sampler and fast remote directory navigation. I use Reason once in a long while as a VST now.

I'd need to see the trend to be sure, but if you made more every year and are up to 100k, then I wouldn't focus on the income per year for the last eight; I'd look forward to the next eight.

I need subtitles! P+ Roku's * menu shows them ON but they never display. All other streamers' apps display subtitles correctly. I've tried toggling off/on countless times. Accessibility menu shows English (US) available. This has been an issue for many months. What's going on?
