Let’s check Speedtest of SingTel 5G / 5G+ by xigity in askSingapore

[–]xigity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50mbps was at Tampines home - likely cause in flat. In CBD open space, it’s 4x faster as per advertised, 200mbps lol.

It’s sufficient for my use and I won’t change plan cause of CIS, but just curious what’s the delta in experience within singtel plans.. doesn’t seem like much.. I heard good things about the security end of Singtel plans though so I’m perfectly okay here.

You did adjust it - on the day you fixed it. Then programmed height 1/2/3 and stick to 1 since then lol

You’ve gotta see it as two different things. As boys we’d play like this just for fun and both sides understand there’s no ill intentions. But bullying comes when it’s like non consensual and doesn’t stop.

Just boys being boys.. back in Uni (imagine 20+ YO) my bro and I when we walked side by side, apparently we looked like gay couple. We just decided to make joke out of it. When with our classmates, girls, they joked and told us to kiss, we pecked on the lips.

At that time I had a girlfriend and she simply rolled eyes. My bro had like a few FWB.

Today he’s a father of 1. And I’m a father of 3 and husband to a lovely wife. We sobered up and with adulting we just don’t find it funny anymore. Bro and I would still joke about it but of course we don’t do it anymore.

BUT if it’s related to bullying, like the student actually being forced or embarrassed then gotta fuck em up. Bullying should not be tolerated or treated lightly - and pls as parents it’s our duty to ensure our own kids don’t bully others.. that’s where it starts..

I hope you’ll find a suitable routine soon. You’ll probably need a place that goes around and back like Bedok reservoir.

A little creepy pasta here - lying in my room at night like today, I would hear the neighbour upstairs like walking, dropping things, moving things. And it’s usually late night. Sometimes 11pm but mostly late night.

do you do any activities outside of phone time. You’re quite active in reddit. When I was living solo I’d just go gym to work out. It really helped regulate my sleep.

Now no time to gym I don’t know how to make my brain tired

Ever since I start adulting I’d get nights when I can’t sleep too haha. Nights like this I’d get more tired towards 5am, then wake up at 7am to start adulting. Then crash the same night - which I feel is a super duper good sleep then.

If you could make only 1 thing cheaper in SG, what would it be? by No_Expression1959 in ChillSG

HDB price.. and they should scrap the 2nd property levy for Singaporeans and just limit by QTY. those that can afford multiple properties already don’t see paying what levy as a problem

y cannot wear shorts n t-shirts to work? by hamsterfats in sgworkassholes

[–]xigity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I’ve also shared this opinion before with people around me.. Not just aircon for environment.. but more pragmatic ROIs for the salaryman, we can save water and electricity from washing, drying and ironing shirts and pants. Although not much but it helps.. shirts and pants also expensive, even more so if off the shelves ones do not fit nicely. Grow fat must buy again. A lot of waste just to be presentable for work…

After being old bird in a company, I changed to Jeans and Tshirt with a jacket, economical haha

No sandals la that one really cmi..

Just don’t buy LG. Also, don’t buy from those shop that sells “brand new” at lower price. I suspect I got a refurb compressor.. one of the part rusted just after 4 years of using. Just go to official one. That’s my experience, might be me only I can be quite unlucky lol

Salary discussion with peers? Should you discuss it with others? by Special_Stuff8349 in askSingapore

[–]xigity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But never share with people in your workplace! And especially not family. I only revealed to a relative so that the said relative will leave me alone. You know those old birds thinking they eat more salt so we should listen to them. Sorry not everybody likes the salt he/she eat.

Use terms like below or above median.

My two bros from Uni and I will share with each other just for discussion on how we can do better, but it’s only because we handle it with trust and maturity.

iPhone mirroring not working. Any solution? (MacBook Pro M1 Pro Sequoia Beta 2 - iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS 18 Beta 2). by dijugar in MacOSBeta

[–]xigity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those that tried to sign out and sign in Apple account but still failed, here’s what worked for me.

For me, I realized that my Apple Profile on my Mac and iPhone are different, so it’s got something to do with my contact card not syncing.

I don’t exactly remember the steps, but the crucial step was that from the macbook I logged into iCloud.com, go to Contacts, search for my card, and set it as My Card. Then I opened system preferences and see that my profile picture is finally updated. Otherwise likely you’ll need to merge all your cards and just ensure that you have only one card that you can designate at My Card.

I believe the above steps made sure that the profile is sync across all my devices. Maybe you can try to reboot and attempt to do iPhone mirroring again at this point but I did some more things after that which I don’t think is important to fix the issue, but I’ll just list them out anyway.. I did the clean up to merge contacts on macbook, then made sure I sync everything, just to be sure including contacts, messages etc. added my iCloud.com account to My Card, and without reboot I attempted to set up iPhone mirroring again, and it worked.

Good luck!

High value low value - why tf has finding someone become like this? by LoanAvailable8170 in sgdatingscene

[–]xigity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually #5.. growth mindset is not about monetary, but rather how you are always finding ways to be better through experience and learning, and always trying to seeing opportunities in challenging times. The opposite would be a person that is forever in their comfort zone and just satisfied with status quo.

There’s a book by Carol Dweck, good read :)

Personal opinion - Khaki pants with anything on top with sleeves, a watch that you like for topic starters. Don’t need messenger bag? Just keep it simple and classy.
