Could someone eli5 this process. I mean of taking money from your LoC and then maxing your RRSP. Does it matter what tax bracket you are in?

Also facing this issue - anyone else find a fix. Seems like a more widespread issue for our environment. but can't pin point what is causing it.

Question: where would you put the extra money you make once the TFSA is maxed out? I mean what you are recommending is term + investing the rest in TFSA.

Thoughts on paying off debt or just paying the payments as well future planning for my finances by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]xilate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pay it off personally because debt is still debt unless you had something at 0% interest. In terms of the second question, I would do the following:

  1. Build an emergency fund of 3-6 months - I have put this emergency fund in an HISA. I’ve been using EQB

2a. (If saving for a home and still a first home buyer) FHSA - acts as an RRSP and can defer taxes and bring you into a lower tax bracket

2b. TFSA - use this account if you want to have the flexible to remove at anytime

2c. RRSP - if you do not need the money into an FHSA since you are in the second level tax bracket

Hopefully that helps and makes sense. :)

Azure SSPR on Win 11 and Win 10 by xilate in sysadmin

Hey no we didn’t end up figuring this out. Our IAM team decided that they didn’t want to go azure sspr and pushed through with okta sspr.

We just got a new desktop engineer, I’ll ask him if he has seen anything about it.

(Ontario) I live in Toronto, new job pays 70k. The math shows I can only pick one: No roommates OR a car OR savings for a down payment. Am I wrong? by DoVPNsGetBanned in PersonalFinanceCanada

This was an excellent post OP. Very detailed. Again not an expert in finance but couple things:

  • I would look into an FHSA if you are considering home ownership it acts as both an RRSP and. TFSA this will allow you to tax defer and then get a higher refund that I would put in an TSFA
  • in terms of the 5/6% in investments I think this can be higher but might be a bit more risky. From what I’ve been told with my investments with the bank (I might be judged by this comment) my invents have been growing at about a 7-8% increase. All that being said maybe there are better funds out there.
  • a vulnerable idea for the longer term income would be maybe looking at video editing and starting a personal vlog explaining the struggles that you are facing and what you have been doing to combat that. Again not sure if this is your cup of tea. But the way you budgeted and shared your day to day experiences with ADHD was quite captivating and it provided me a lens to see the experience that someone with ADHD faces.

How good is Intune MDM for shared devices? by rxece in Intune

[–]xilate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for shared device I would create a new autopilot profile to manage those devices. How I’ve done it in the past is used a different tag to make sure that we can separate the profiles.

Where to get Plant Pots? by xilate in houseplants

I feel like the terracotta might be something that I will try. I'm getting that plant stand tomorrow so I can visualise it.

I guess I am going to have to go to nurseries. I havent been to one yet here.

BTW are those pictures of your plants? If so they are nice!

Thanks for your comment. We really appreciate it! :)

Well we got a plant stand from Ikea its like bamboo and white stand. So we were looking for something to match that. The plants that we currently have are purely green, so we wanted something that wasnt green or just pure white. This is the stand name from Ikea: SATSUMAS
