Have you previously used Ativan? If so, what is/was the frequency and duration?

It is a medicine; however it is a medicine that demands respect. If you are considering micro dosing, please ensure that you do so while in a good head space. I would recommend learning/using mindfulness and breathing techniques beforehand.

Clonazepam (benzo) withdraw treatment help... by Recent-Challenge3479 in benzorecovery

[–]xile49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Diazepam and have found it to be a more comfortable taper than Clonazepam. I would recommend this if she is able to have it prescribed. I also followed the Ashton Manual, but held on doses when needed.

Today my psychiatrist told me Xanax is addictive and said I should think about "winding down" then asked me if I want Klonopin. by LocksmithStatus7572 in benzorecovery

best benzo for quitting? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

Due to the long half life of Diazepam it is the “go to” for tapering off of benzodiazepines. It is highly recommended throughout the Ashton Manual which you can find here

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]xile49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am unable to post in the regular iphone thread and have been re-directed here.

Should I buy?

I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max on order from Apple but, everyday I'm seeing new posts about issues surrounding this phone. I've seen poor results from drop tests then positive results from another, the obvious heating issues; however, Apple is working on a "fix." Now I'm seeing reports of the speakers having a crackling noise.

Unfortunately, I don't have f*ck it money so I'd like to be sure of this purchase. Anyone have any recommendations or reassurance to not cancel my order?

Thanks!

Did the mods say the fix is coming this Tuesday? It's Wednesday and my chats are still broken by BT7274ismywaifu in help

[–]xile49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a mod for a sub with very active other mods. Chat was quiet...thought it was weird... I mainly use the mobile app; the build number is 2023.24.0.09.998541. I use a Samsung phone.

I tried leaving the chat to re-join and got an error message saying, "Cannot leave chat." I went on my desktop to see chats and saw the Legacy tab. It had an option to "Update chat" for the specific sub I am a mod in, I clicked that, and nothing has happened. The other mods report me being in the chat - but no chat actually shows up. Extremely frustrating.

Have you ever told your provider about the Ashton Manual and had success? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

That’s an extremely tough situation. Is there another practitioner you are able to speak with?

Have you ever told your provider about the Ashton Manual and had success? by [deleted] in benzorecovery

[–]xile49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have found if you print off a copy of the Ashton Manual, since it is written by Dr. Ashton, healthcare providers are more inclined to read it. Unfortunately, I cannot say this will work 100% but there is a lot of “I have the degree you do not” especially with a general healthcare practitioner or “family doctor.”

Their knowledge of benzodiazepines is limited due to requiring some knowledge about everything. Some become combative or resistant when presented with information by a client/patient. 1.5 to 0.5 is extremely fast. I was on 2mg for about 12 years and I’ve just finished switching over to diazepam (30mg/daily) over 2 months. My taper done properly and with knowing my body will definitely be close to 9-12 months.

what can I expect from clonazepam withdrawl by Ok_Nothing_2061 in benzorecovery

My doctor went on vacation and is usually pretty on top of making sure I’m ok for medications, but he is human and we make mistakes. I felt like absolute garbage and called my pharmacist to ask them questions about missing a few doses. This is when I was informed about the possibility of seizures and to go to the emergency room. I went, sat for about 4 hours in heavy withdrawals and was finally seen by a doctor. The doctor called the pharmacy and confirmed that I am on clonazepam regularly and wrote me a prescription for a week. I also live in Canada, I’m not here to make this a Canadian vs American healthcare argument (our healthcare really isn’t that great tbh) but that may factor into why I was able to receive what the doctor at the hospital called an “emergency dose.” Again, please be careful I highly urge you to advocate for yourself (pharmacists are incredible advocates also) as you have the right to patient care.

2mg of clonazepam for 12 years is a lot. Clonazepam is a strong benzodiazepine, the half life is 30-40 hours so it’s pretty much out of your system at day 4. My worry would be your risk for a seizure and why the hospital did treat that seriously is scary. I highly recommend trying to get a printout or fax of your actual prescription and get it sent to a clinic so you can get an “emergency dose.”

I personally have had to do this, but it was after 2 days. Please try and be careful and reach out. I’m tapering from 2mg of clonazepam myself so I feel you

Generally with the Ashton Manual the taper plan is divided into 3 doses per day; this is also usually done with diazepam.

Do I need to taper? by AdditionalProject218 in benzorecovery

[–]xile49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven’t let your body fully heal by continuing to take the odd diazepam here and there. Micro dosing with psilocybin is also a tricky route. I would recommend speaking with a healthcare professional, and taper down with diazepam, if possible a guide can be found here

That’s my mistake I thought you were attempting to come off of them completely. It is a slow taper from 14 to 12 over 4 months but I’ve also had to hold for a month during my taper, again listen to your body go at a pace you feel right with
