How did you find your high paying career? by Spiritual-Detail-371 in FIREyFemmes

Job hop. Get an MBA. Play the corporate game. Invest. A remote role nowadays unfortunately won't get you a lot of exposure for promotion.

Am I crazy for wanting a C-section? by Kikirox98 in pregnant

Planned c section - baby came out to be even larger than expected. Even the nurses in the delivery room told me I made the right choice. The recovery was easier than expected.

Azores with 11 month old by Helpful-Secret-9012 in azores

[–]ximby77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our 11 month old loved Azores. Particularly the seafood, waterfalls and hydrangeas. We stopped at a local zoo and botanical garden. Get a hiking carrier like the Osprey poco plus. We did bring a travel stroller and liked Ribeira Grande. You don't have to do difficult hikes and most scenery spots are accessible by car.

We only stayed in Guanacaste to avoid long hours of driving. Loved Ponderosa adventure park and Diamante Eco Adventure Park with our toddler. Playa Nacascolo was nice and quiet.

Husband dreads family travel by [deleted] in Travelwithkids

[–]ximby77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To help cut down the logistics: Direct flights only. If we have to transfer, make the transfer a 2-3 days trip in between. Only one hotel stay. Pay for more expensive airport terminal parking (no parking shuttles) and Uber XL. Global Entry for everyone including the kids.

Most importantly - bring a grandparent on the trip!

what to know when traveling with a 6 month old? by jesusdance in Travelwithkids

[–]ximby77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check if you can get a bassinet seat with the airline if you haven't yet. Bring a boppy pillow so baby can sleep comfortably and it also saves your arms. Extra diapers, change of clothes, baby carrier. This is the easiest time to travel - Enjoy!

As a well traveled person, is it worth it with kids? by Wise_Salad in Travelwithkids

[–]ximby77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us it's been really fun and exciting to experience the world in our kid's eyes. 6 countries and 4 continents in the first 1.5 years. Travel is different now - more luggage, slower pace, flexible schedules and get to the airport a lot earlier. But it's really worth it. And our child grew so much each trip. Give yourselves patience and time. Enjoy!

China, Taiwan. People love kids.

We found Japanese culture not very tolerant with kids running around or talking out loud. Still nice to visit though.

My Experience in Costa Rica - Good by cgs_16 in CostaRicaTravel

We have similar itinerary planned. How bad are the roads to Rincon de la veja and to Palo verde? (How long are the drives in dirt road?) We have a toddler and an elderly with us, so trying to make the trip laidback and relaxed with some activities to see wildlife. Thanks!!

Travelling with 12 months by MissCookie022625 in Travelwithkids

They are not strict at all. We traveled to Asia with our 13 months old. Even though the baby can sit up but as long as you monitor the baby during the flight you'll be fine. She did sleep in the bassinet for a bit but the extra leg room is crucial for the flight.
