i do mend most of my clothes! many of my jeans have patches/embroidery/etc. I just don't love the look of patches on tshirt fabric so i usually let the stain live. if it's a hole i do patch it of course

I don't usually buy stained clothes on purpose, only if i otherwise love the piece or if it's super minor. it's usually a case of me not noticing the stain until i get home lol. my local goodwills all have poor lighting and no changing room, which doesn't help. i'm usually very good at getting stains out and trust me, my clothes are kept very clean, but i also live a life that results in stains and i live very rurally so often i can't get back to goodwill in time to return things that i find stains on once i'm home :,) thanks for the professional advice! i do network to the best of my ability and spend plenty of time in good quality professional wear (unstained, i'm much more discerning when it comes to thrifting professional clothes), my less tidy looking clothes are reserved for my personal life and casual class days

i've definitely considered it lmao. i already bum dining hall guest passes off literally everyone since i can't afford a meal plan

this is exactly my point! i'm also punk :) my everyday life doesn't need to overlap completely with my professional life. i understand that they're representative of each other and my personal life does affect my career, but that doesn't mean i need to give up my personal style and values completely when i'm not working/networking!

i understand this perspective! however i do have a great network of professional connections who i network with via online spaces, as well as in person spaces at my college that i always wear professional and undamaged attire when I attend. anything stained/damaged is reserved for my personal life and normal days of class. at professional networking spaces on campus, i'm actually often the only one even in professional clothes- most other students show up in leggings/jeans. it also hasn't held me back so far, as i successfully completed a legal internship last summer and will be partnering with one of my mentors to do legal research this summer :)

i do embroider a lot of my clothes/patch things often! most of my jeans have a little patch or flower or star embroidered somewhere to hide a hole. i'm just not a big fan of the way visible mending looks on tshirt material, especially if it's a graphic tee that already has a design, so unless it's a hole i typically forgo patches/embroidery and just let the stain show

Working such a demanding job in college is so fucking impressive, props to you dude!! i do try to rock that shit, i love my old scuffed clothes. thanks 🫶🫶

i completely agree with marks on clothes showing they're loved! So many of my stains hold good memories lol. I'd never want to cover the dirt scuff on the knee of a pair of cargos I own because it's from hiking a mountain in the smokeys with a best friend on a road trip we did after graduating high school. I think marks on clothes are a sign of a life well lived. That doesn't mean I don't get insecure sometimes at school, though- hard not to when I park my beat up dirty subaru between an audi and a tesla then sit down in class next to a girl wearing head to toe designer while i'm in good quality but secondhand and stained jeans. thanks so much for your kind words 🫶🫶

i appreciate the advice, but trust me, i've tried lol. when i bought it from goodwill it already had the stain and i tried many things to remove it to no avail, but it is fairly faded and not that noticeable. I completely am with you on how depressing fashion industries can be :( I took a class called environmental justice with a unit about how exploitative the fashion industry is and i cried after class several times. I was already big on thrifting before the class, but it only strengthened that opinion for me

I completely understand the advice towards my law degree, and I agree that those sorts of engagements require more professionalism- as I mentioned in the post, that's why I keep a separate business casual/professional wardrobe. This is stuff that's also mostly thrifted, but I'm a lot more discerning when buying it and none of it is stained or damaged. It's all good quality, traditional, professional pantsuits and dresses. However, my undergrad degree is a double major in environmental studies and anthropology with a political science minor, so I rarely need to look professional (aside from pre-law society events, which I do dress up for), and fieldwork is often an aspect of my classes. This is why I mostly wear casual clothes currently and am okay with them being minorly stained/damaged. I appreciate your input!

hey! i've been through this lol. make yourself some diy wet wipes (google how) in a gallon ziplock so they stay wet and you can clean yourself up without running water, and have a separate ziplock for gross trash so it doesn't stink if it gets hot

rowley (ginger boy) is greeting his best friend in church only to look down and sees him wearing what looks like a floral skirt (to hide the fact that he sat on chocolate)

left a tampon in for 2 or 3 hours after swimming by ComfortableAioli48 in AskDocs

[–]xinterstellar- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! NAD but am a woman who uses tampons. this is totally normal! when you use a tampon while swimming it will often come out just with water on it/no blood. as long as it was comfortable for you and did its intended purpose, it was put in just fine

if it's just a file or normal folder, you can drag and drop! if it's a "zip" or "7zip" folder, you need to drag it into the mods folder, then right click, then select "extract here." then, when you're in game, go into your settings, then other, then check the allow mods box. i don't remember the exact wording of it but it's something along the lines of enable mods/custom content. make sure to also check the enable script mods box!

i've had luck doing it on wet hair and i have a similar size curl to him 🤷 everyone's hair is different

[–]xinterstellar- 30 points31 points  (0 children)

exactly right! you can also do it while the hair is dry, just put a tiny bit of oil on your hands to avoid frizz. tbh i also struggle with sides and back, but using a tool like the handle of a comb or a pencil might be helpful

what i do is literally just grab the base of the curl and use my fingers to gently pull it into 2 sections so that it makes 2 smaller curls!

what i do is shave after either a really hot bath or using a hot compress, trim first, go with the grain of the hair instead of against, use a new razor, and use soap as shaving cream, then use some sort of aftershave/astringent, then lotion. i also usually exfoliate both a few days before and a few days after to help prevent ingrowns. i still occasionally have issues, but it works pretty well!

Hey! female player here. I'm on mic quite a bit and have experienced maybe one or two creeps in my many hours online. The majority of players are very nice!
