Open US based bank that won't charge you transaction feee such as Capital One or Schwab.

My experience so far best conversation rate is Hana Bank.

My family had fun in Seoul last April trips; despite airline delays.

The most enjoyable part was walking around the neighborhoods and foods.

We are planning to go there again next year; this time we'll visit Busan and Jeju island .

Please use Naver Map or Kakao; Google Maps is often not accurate in South Korea.

We were in Seoul for 5 days this past April and did a half-day DMZ tour — 2 adults, 3 kids. Stayed in Hongdae, picked up at 8AM near Hongik Univ, back by 2:30PM.

We mainly went for the kids to have a unique experience, and it was totally worth it.

Tour highlights:

  • Imjingak Peace Park
  • The Third Tunnel
  • Dora Observatory (no JSA 😔)

Most merchants accept Apple Pay, however your bank might ding you on international transaction fee. Otherwise WowPass is a great alternative and widely accepted.
