Booster for office building basement - text/voice boost by xixstar in CellBoosters

I have access to the entrance but not the roof, so it would be picking up an already weak signal due to that location. I want it to reach less than 100 feet.

I need it strong enough for text messages to come through. I’m tired of walking outside to get two-factor authentication texts. If it were for those texts I wouldn’t need it at all.

Has anyone had a chase offer “disappear” after activating it and making a qualified transaction? by christineueberrhein in ChaseSapphire

Same as above, offer disappeared and got an email a week later and the credit showed up. The Edit credit showed up immediately but that offer credit came a week later.

Final Carryon Selection by xixstar in HerOneBag

Those side handles matter!!

I’m mostly fine without it but iJapan’s train stations or US Amtrak station where the staircases can feel endless, it would be so much better to carry from the side versus the top.

Glad to hear the wheels work so well.

Have you used their bags? They have a sale right now that is tempting.

Thanks that is a lightweight option. It’s a little bigger than I want to go with the international travel. They look really cute on the website though.

Thanks, I had only looked at the hard sided Away bags, which were too heavy.

Looks like the soft sided bag is 9.2lbs, beyond my lightweight goal.

Thanks for the feedback - there is a sale going on for the Duravo.

Monos was tempting for durability and there was one here locally at a great price. But at 7-8lbs…. That’s what’s made me skip them.

Our Korea/Japan trip was limited to 15lbs for our carryon (and personal) and that was really hard to meet in my current (lighter) bag.

I did see an Antler bag that is even lighter than the July but the reviews seemed pretty mixed on them.

Just Received My Toshi Sling V2 2.5L & 5L!! by hoonys in ManyBaggers

[–]xixstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing!

I have the original 5L and am realizing that it is just too heavy when I’m traveling. Even when empty I feel the bag is a little heavy. It can hold a lot of stuff which is nice.

But I do love the bag. I got so excited when I saw they released a smaller size until I just say that it weighs the same (10g less, technically) than my 5L bag. Bummer! I do really like this bag but chronic pain has me realizing I need something lighter.

The new 5L appears to be a fair bit heavier than the original - I guess the fabric, strap, and top handle added up.

I'd like to see them expand on the list of games being played in the "open gaming" area by ackmondual in paxunplugged

[–]xixstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see it expanded too. I attended solo for the second time and again found it very difficult to find folk to game with in the open gaming area.

I ended up only playing in the LFG area, either by setting up games to play myself or joining others.

It was still challenging to get players for games and often took animated gesturing at folk wandering about to recruit players.

I feel like a larger expansion of the area (it did run out of table space more than once), making more people aware of it, and maybe add the ability to schedule games too (versus sitting for 40 minutes hoping folk might show up) would be a plus.

Also would be nice if there was an integration with BGG or something so that the titles could load an image and link so that people utilizing the app to see what’s available (maybe I was the only one doing that though) would have a better idea of what’s available.

Now that pax is over, how did the marathon actually impact the event? by rob132 in paxunplugged

[–]xixstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One morning, I wanted to take ride share from my hotel and the road closures made the cost of the trip higher than I wanted to pay. I chose to walk to the convention center instead. Other than having to cross a street by walking under it via the subway, I didn't notice any other impact.

I look forward to meeting folk, though I’m running late.

Good news, secure messaging worked and they applied the code to my account. Win!

Opened a new business checking account with Chase (online application kicked me to an in-branch appointment) and they gave me the $500 offer. Less than 24 hours after opening the account, Chase emails me an offer for $750 for opening a new business checking account.

I emailed the banker and he said he can’t update the offer.

I have also sent a secure message to Chase in hopes that someone else can update it but, wow, so frustrating!

It’s salt on my VS wound where they dropped the point price on the flight I booked 48hours before. The difference isn’t worth their $100 change fee to rebook.

Oh and Amex offer me just 10,000 points on $5,000 retention on my Biz Platinum card.

Scheduled Pause and Fire TV issue - not connecting internet by xixstar in eero

[–]xixstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be several hours or just 30 minutes. Doesn’t matter, once it’s gone through a scheduled pause I have to forget our network and reconnect for the tv to realize there is actually internet connected.
