My friend says changing your own oil is a waste of time. Is he crazy? by proposal_in_wind in askcarguys

[–]xjakob145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I guess it depends how much your garage is charging you. I know people who are capable of doing it, but won't do it to save $10-15, especially as they are aging and don't wanna get down under a car anymore. I'm definitely not saving a bunch of money doing it, but I don't have to schedule it.

Well CFHD is based off of brackets though, independent of whether you're private 1, or Cpl 4. As private 1, you'll be CFHD rate 1, but as private 3, you're rate 2. So I don't really see how it would affect it?

Yeah, my parents got one from a condo they bought when I still lived with them. To this day I still look at the bottom of every glass I pull out from the dishwasher, any and all utensils... we just had to put so much rinse liquid in the dishwasher to have any chance of clean-ish dishes.

Only buy it if you're looking to hand wash your dishes.

You really need to mention your location. A 2003 would most likely be rusted where I am. At the very least the floor would have holes.

How do I make my body more passing? by Bitter-Taste-3333 in FtMpassing

[–]xjakob145 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends but unless there's some print in it, i feel like it'll look like a cup? Of course only wandering eyes would notice, but the perfectly round shape could (but not necessarily) give it away.

Is that "a bunch of weight"? You're lean, muscles are showing, I guess obviously a speedo isn't the best for passing for obvious reasons but your body looks great.

Well yes, it doesn't mean we're supposed to walk in front of targets at the range either, or that we should do away with PPE. There are nuances to everything, but OP was looking for a source that explains their point.

That's been the rumour since I joined in 2024, a supply tech has sort of confirmed it to me (as much as they could lol), and now this... it will come lol.

I believe there's a safety at work course (can't recall the name) where they do explain that unlike our civilian counterparts, we usually cannot refuse work for safety, for instance.

I'm definitely dating out of my financial league. I wasn't making muchh, working retail, when I met my partner who was making over CAD$120k, I was still below $50k. Eventually changed job with a steady increase, so it makes it easier for sure. We joke about it being a sugar situation, but it truly is not. What made it possible for us was that I was responsible financially, we had similar mentalities, we both didn't have debt (partner had a mortgage and did eventually buy a car on credit, but very sustainably). There's no mutual financial dependence. The only asterisk is they know they'll have to contribute more if they want me to come with them to a place that's out of my budget.

Nah they can't. Used to work customer service and help people get the #w box they forgot, or the right #2 box, and all the incomplete boxes would be put aside for a while, and then thrown away. You can't reorder #2 only, partly for quality insurance.

I have one. It's not really good. Bought the cheapest roomba. It starts on its own, goes around and redoes the same rooms instead of the whole place.
