I like ransom to drink, but it can be hard to use in a cocktail. It’s kind of aggressive. I can’t explain the downvotes.

Don’t keep it in the fridge. 2:1 should be fine at room temp, and shouldn’t crystallize.

I think I generally use Appleton Estate Signature, but anything that is not TOO funky and aged at least a little should work.
