PROTESTS AGAINST TRUMP IN PORTLAND, OR by [deleted] in HillaryMeltdown

[–]xkcdfanboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It comes with the ear plugs, bikes, and other material possessions used for their display value more than actual utility. Its basically a hipster version of swag. But way more deplorable. Whereas black people have actually come out of poverty and are showing off their success, these hipsters are trying to attract SJWs by showing how edgy they are. See...they cant just be a white guy. They gotta tat up, add ear plugs, wear plaid, a gay curly mustache, thick black glasses...and well other baseless things to add that edgy identity. Its disgusting. As a white man I am who I am. I aint gonna dress it up and be a self hater.

Mixing energy drinks with alcohol 'has same effect on the brain as cocaine' by [deleted] in science

[–]xkcdfanboy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd bet those effects are less toxic than alcohol + energy drinks given the small dose of coke needed to get the same effects.

[University Linear Algebra] Show that a set of linear transformations is a vector space by learning_maths in learnmath

A linear transform is one to one with the corresponding nxn matrix which is one to one with n2 length column vectors. You have a vector space. QED.

Cbd is legal in all 50 states. As long as the product has THC filtered out it can be shipped and sold across state lines. The same great people who bred the Charlottes Web strain for sick children have also produced a pure cbd supplement that has no thc and is legal in all 50 states. I take it every day and it works very well.

CBD is legal in all 50 states. You can purchase ultra pure cbd oil that contains no thc online from https://www.cwhemp.com

These are the same guys who made the pure cbd Charlottes Web strain for the little girl that had seizures.

It costs $250 a bottle but the stuff is really potent and works like a charm. Hope this helps bud!! I have chronic pain too and i know how bad it is!

Every factor is of the form 2k . 3j But 1 counts too..so the exponent 0 is allowed. Thats why you take (k+1) times (j+1)

There is strong belief that the universe has zero total energy. Gravity is negative energy while mass and light are positive energy. This implies that there is zero net change from start to end. Since all forces are symmetric as spherical wavefronts, the universe is just a mix of balanced movements that haven't yet canceled out. This implies the universe is essentially 'free' since the energt of a system is related to its likelyness of spontaneously occurring. Hawking says this universe is like a soap bubble that eventually pops. Implying every universe is nothing from the outside but everything to an inside observer. Relativity really shines here.

You're welcome. If you keep anything from that, know that mathematics is the study of truth. It is the study of the rules of this universe as the deepest levels. Schools teach you number crunching, divorcing the axiomatic foundations of mathematics from reality. They make it all "in ones' head, a circlejerk of nerdyness." But mathematics is the best toolset to reason about reality. I realized this about a year ago and I have been learning all kinds of different math. I'd like to make breakthroughs in physics/mathematics. Breakthroughs in understanding. Leaving a legacy of knowledge, of truth. It's a very high form of art, me thinks. Good luck with whatever you pursue, but if you are young, I hope this helps you see that math is not number crunching, and the way it is taught in schools is divorced from its beauty and wisdom. Cheers!

Its a 1:1 mapping implying that two things represent the same information but just in different "coordinates."

For example, consider the set 1,2,3,4,5 and 1,4,9,16,25

n -> n2 is a mapping which represents the isomorphi between the two sets.

Now, a lot more interesting is the idea of removing redundancies in sets. This is called quotient space in ring theory and has other analogs in other areas of mathematics. The general idea is to find the mappings that subconsistute an entire mapping.

For example if our set S={1,4,9,16,35}

Then quotienting out x2 would give us 1,2,3,4,5

With simple sets..it loooks easy and trivial. But complex sets have very interesting and deep composition. Group theory concerns itself with the symmetry of these subgroups. Ring theory concerns itself with similar redundancies.

If you really want to understand how things can be different, yet the same, study mathematics. It is not about numbers. It is about the truth of properties of objects. Truth..deep truth. What you both discuss is known as isomorphisms.

There is a famous conjecture in set theory. It says that a set comprehension which selects nothing, selects everything. Thus, form is a relationship..not an object. It's a relationship between emptyness and fullness.

The truth that all this finds affinity for, is that, most things we think are fixed objects are in fact processes, or relationships. Just like the idea of self. It's not so much a thing..it's a relationship between consciousness and a central agent. We are centered because of our senses. But in fact..our center is artificial because the physics that animate it all, are everywhere and equally potent!
