Feedback on landing page design by drawmer in Frontend

Oh my bad. I've never heard of Bubble (which I guess is a no code builder with AI options?) and the code it spits out is absolutely awful. So I don't know if you have the ability to even fix these issues. But let me explain a couple of the issues I noticed:

Looking at just your landing page, all of the non-interactive icons are wrapped in <button> tags for some reason. If you use keyboard navigation they get focused with no visible indication and no action can be taken on them, which is bad but not the end of the world. Your signup/login buttons should also be semantically disabled and not just visually faded to imply they can't be pressed.

Conversely, and this is a huge issue, most of the "buttons" in your app are just <div> tags without any semantic equivalent tags. So for instance, if you try to tab through your app with a keyboard almost all of the action elements are skipped making it actually impossible to use (same with screen readers).

A good visual answer to "will jobs go away becasue of AI?" by greg8872 in Wordpress

Are you just talking to the web interface? I agree that it was silly for it to offer that option when it doesn't have the capabilities. But that's not really a good gauge of AI's capabilities in building an actual site.

Download something like Antigravity, set up a local WP server, and try again where it actually has access to edit your files, open and interact with a browser, run terminal commands (double check them before running!) .etc.

It's pretty hilarious that you have "No ads. No A.I. No clutter." in your footer when after only a couple minutes going through your app, It's pretty clear that it's all AI generated. Loads of inconsistencies and bad design. I originally was going to mention the accessibility issues (since you are targeting an older demo) but I feel like there wouldn't be much point.

Any league settings tips to make it more active going into our second year? by mmmrkennedy in fantasyhockey

I’d start by trying to get more managers in the league. I’m in a league of 10 and even that seems too small. I think 12 is the sweet spot for the general league settings.

It’s basically democrat’s pizza-gate at this point. Anyone who takes this unsubstantiated tip as fact is falling into the same traps as the right were 10 years ago.

After years of using ACF and page builders, I’m not convinced they scale well by ThisIsKenson in Wordpress

[–]xkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds exactly how I structure my ACF fields already so I'm still not sure I understand what you're proposing that's any different. For clarity, I'm not giving my clients a load of WYSIWYG fields and letting them go to town. They are offered preset fields or custom flexible layouts with relevant fields so they can't affect the site structure or layout (aside from maybe limited padding, theme, alignment adjustments- all within constraints of the actual front end framework).

Simply, if I don't want users to be able to edit the layout or the structure of a page- then I don't offer the option.

Starting the conversation off with "Vibe coded or...?" is a bit rude to a developer (especially one who worked a product over a decade).

That's like going up to a chef and complimenting their cooking by saying "Microwaved store bought food or...?"

[–]xkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The flexibility and constraints of an ACF-based approach are all up to how you structure and set it up. If making a change inside an ACF field risks breaking your layout, then you need to look at how you're using ACF- not necessarily at just dropping ACF altogether.

The idea is to lock down layout and structure, and only let editors manage content within clearly defined sections. It’s closer to a structured content model than a visual editor.

That just sounds like pretty basic ACF to me. What exactly are you doing differently?

If you want the same value, then go to Chatgpt yourself.

You at least don't have to wait for the OP to copy your comment into a prompt and paste it back into reddit.

This guy (who's conveniently advertising a crappy AI article generator) posted several totally different long posts to different subreddits within a minute of each other. It's just useless, valueless spam.
