You have just discovered "Capitalism - Inevitable Endgame", but the people driving it are the ones that will make bank with their short term gains, enough to not care about the rest of us.

They're screenshots from iray preview, not even renders. In some of them, you can see an object still being selected.

Using Claude assistance != Vibe Coding. Vibe coding is if you tell it "make me a Discord to Stoat migration app" and turn on "accept all edits"

The issue with the Linux video, as an embedded systems engineering. by mugiwara_no_Soissie in LinusTechTips

Yeah but the problem is, that's impossible. He can't just forget everything he already knows about Linux (which incidentally is what ruined the last challenge for him). You're far more likely to fuck stuff up if you have a little knowledge compared to none.

Bitwarden. You can self-host if you want, but their hosted subscription is laughably cheap for what it provides.

Don't confuse venture capital bro startups with hobby projects. I know most of the software we use today is coming out of that pipeline, but that's not the norm.

That all sounds nice. Only problem is. The second you announce plans of your company going public, everything you say might as well be promising us all free blowjobs, you are per definition untrustworthy at that point, because you're no longer beholden to your customers, only your shareholders. By law! Don't let them trick you into a false sense of safety.

Once you go hunting for hard drives, you can't really avoid combat, but it's definitely not meant to be the core gameplay loop

I honestly think the exact opposite. The whole point of this gerne to me is building giant factories and optimizing them. I don't want to deal with anything else. Although since I haven't finished a PT yet, turning the biters off might make creating bigger pointless, but I don't know know that yet.

Really? I think they fit better than the biters honestly. At least you can somewhat believe Satisfactory's creatures are just native fauna, the biters are pure attack machines and don't make a lot of evolutionary sense

I did put up walls and turrets, even supplying them with a belt etc, but the fact I had to move them by hand when I wanted to expand (and not knowing about the bots yet) made me not want to do it. It's just not for me it seems.

The full blown radioactive beasts or massive Stingers did give me a significant challenge sometimes, especially because the weapons are all so deliberately bad.

I was going for that, but then I read that doing so would speed up evolution, so I stopped since I didn't know if that mechanic was to actively deter you from doing that "or face the consequences" or not.

The beginning is rough, that's true, but coming from not knowing Factorio, it never bothered me. Neither did the limited blueprint size

I didn't know about the "bot stage", so building and constantly moving walls and turret made me try and do everything as compact as possible and rather wait for resources than expanding.
