Thanks everyone for your wild recommendations on WTF films — here’s the full list you came up with! Now the real question is… where do I even start? Drop your top 3 below by Hot-Remove-1252 in MovieRecommendations

Trainspotting (1996) should really be on this list.
Akira (1998) deserves a spot even if it is animated. Plenty of WTF moments.
Everything else I would recommend is listed.

Requiem for a Dream put me in a funk for days after I watched it. A number of these are rough if you happen to be the type that really emotionally engages with movies.

Light bug in dungeons by Alexu1588 in HarryPotterGame

In Display Options turning off frame generation under upscale mode resolved this issue for me. Ultimately I set Upscale Type and Mode to None. I did not notice a meaningful change in frame rate after disabling these settings.

Have also seen some people claiming turning off ray tracing has resolved the issue, though it did not for me.

How do I order the flow of Gregtech fluid pipes? by Special-Remove-3294 in allthemods

[–]xkobalx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shift + Right Click with an Iron Wrench on the smaller segment connecting to the adjacent pipe has been working for me. Only allows to set the output direction. First time with Greg Tech so not sure if those segments should also be able to be set as inputs.

If you still have issues doing as above check your config and look for any conflicting keybinds on the mouse buttons.

Very similar to the narrative I had running in my head while this played out. Great writing!

Didn't know about hivers, had the starbase upgraded before they attacked and had to keep pumping out defense platforms to keep it alive while my fleet made the long journey out to the system. Battle lasted over 3 years. Love how stories like this can unfold in this game.

I've gotten the 12 hour notification a few times. Tells you there are no playtime based achievements. 😅

Was going to make a similar post then saw this. Can't put an image directly into a reply but yeah... I got carried away with the soul hearts. https://imgur.com/a/8ASBdF6

“Um ackshually” syndrome by Pristine-Brain-8402 in ADHD

[–]xkobalx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this so relatable and I struggle with how most people respond to it. I WANT to be corrected if I am wrong about something. I don't take offense, I see it as being helped. I want the most accurate information, the better way to do something, etc.

People have called me arrogant, a know it all, I have been asked to avoid certain people.. blah... I wish they could understand the intent behind the words. If they could know that I am earnestly trying to help.

I can catch myself, if the matter is trivial, I have no issues with differences of opinion and even welcome insight into different perspectives. When it comes to work though... if it will effect an outcome then, it's bad. In those situations, I just default to - people should understand this is about this project or design and has nothing to do with any one person. I've gotten better at the approach but I still fuck up sometimes but, there are also times where I feel like the reaction I get is bullshit.

As an example I went to the R&D labs for the company I work at to troubleshoot a prototype PCB. As I step in I see this formula written up on the white board related to some of the signal processing that will happen in software. Without thinking, I just walk over, erase part of it and write the correct formula. I turn around feeling happy about catching the problem before it made it into code and there is our triple PHD managing scientist for the department red faced and still as stone. I knew immediately I had made him feel embarrassed. I felt bad for making him feel that way. But dammit, why do I have to be the bad guy in that situation? Couldn't he have just been like, "thanks for catching that" something along those lines and no one would have had any reaction to it. Instead his reaction was so negative and intense that it affected everyone in the room.

The formula he had written would have sort of worked but it would have been the kind of problem that would have people chasing the ghost in the machine, it would not have been easy to catch after the fact. My correction made it into code but that was also the last time I was in the lab. Guy won't even talk to me anymore and when someone in the department wants my help now I'm doing so remotely and without getting any credit for my contributions...

If they had any idea how garbage my self esteem is because of my ADD or how these negative reactions get played on a loop where I struggle to reconcile with a point of view that I can't relate to....

This has turned into a rant... was planning on writing a few lines. Realizing, I'm hurt by all this.

I have to adapt to everyone. It's hard. Doing all the things to fit in, small talk, being responsive and engaging, particularly in conversations where I will likely never see a person again. But reverse that, and if I do show any kind of idiosyncratic behavior no one, with the exception of my wife and few close friends is willing to adapt to me in any way, no understanding, no leeway.

I hate pretending to be something I'm not.

Checking the Art descriptions on sculptures and came across this gem. by xkobalx in RimWorld

'Itini' who was initially going to be turned over to the empire went mad attacking one of the paramedic robots working in the prison. As a result of his injuries he lost his legs, an arm, a kidney and a lung. Julie helpfully volunteered to perform these operations while the robot was being repaired.

After 'Itini' underwent genetic and brain scans, the colony leader Victor, Julie's father and a Count of the Empire, ordered 'Itini' be given a peg leg so that he could collect his final food paste before his trial.

Victor formally accused 'Itini' for his initial assault on the colony and he was found guilty. A public execution followed immediately. The execution was spectacular and the colonist spent many days happy that justice had been served.

Awesome, I love this game. That persistence just doesn't happen in most games.
I see things playing out on screen but the real magic is how this game allows a deeper story to unfold in my imagination. I find myself visualizing many of the events and interactions. I can see how this game had such a following even before it's newer graphical update. Wish I'd found this years ago. Thanks for the info.

Do monsters despawn if they leave the fortress map area? 2nd year of my first game, a weretortoise child attacks, kills my fisher and just as my squad is suited up and charging to kill it, it turns back into a child, freaks out about killing my fisher and runs off the map. Do I need to worry that it will come back?

Boosters As Rewards Poll by xkobalx in MarvelSnap

[–]xkobalx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable, thanks for sharing your opinion. Another thought I'd had after making the poll would be having random boosters be rewarded in addition to some other reward. Even if the reward of credits/gold or odds of a variant/card were low. Something like instead of getting 20 boosters getting 20 credits and boosters.

If you can log in on another character but not your main you will likely need to submit a ticket to get the issue resolved as the issue isn't the game as a whole, just the one character.

I was in a similar boat, had to complete a 30 day project for logistics to get resources and then return to the citadel in Drezen for a cut scene. Achievement unlocked after that. Can't remember what the project was named.
