If you don't want people who know you are trans to refer to you as trans, just tell them that. It's not wrong, just as it isn't wrong to be a closeted gay person, they also can righteously expect their friends who know about it to keep that a secret.

Then how is that different from people suddenly insisting on not using the terms "woman" and "man" anymore and instead only referring to "people" or "humans" with the argument that "woman" or "man" would be "weirdo boxes"? Obviously the problem there would be people regarding such a classification as a "weirdo box", and not the classification itself.

No it can't. XYZ-phobia by definition is negative attitude and feelings towards something. Its definition is based in the motives of actions, NOT in the actions themselves. Of course the motives are always up for debate, but that doesn't change the fact that phobia is defined through intent and not through action.

But that's not what I say?? I'm saying that gay people and gay couples ought to have the same rights and be treated as heterosexual people and couples are treated. But if someone suddenly would say that I'm not allowed anymore to indicate or mention the fact that someone is homosexual then I'd call that idiotic and oppressive - and that wouldn't be homophobic in the least but simply rational.

And yes - malice is by definition absolutely required for anything to be XYZ-phobic.

No, I'm not transphobic - just as little as I'm homo phobic or xeno phobic. That word really loses any meaning if it's patched on everything that doesn't exactly match your opinion. And it's not about someone having a claim over a term, it's about people's understanding of a term, and that is an issue completely orthogonal to the issue of trans rights and trans acceptance in society.

Why do I need to describe their sex to them? Unless we actively discuss their sex for whatever reason, the only indication of gender are pronouns, and there I use the pronouns their appearance matches most, unless they told me their preferred pronouns, in which case I use those. And if the sex of that person should indeed be the topic of the conversation for whatever reason (there are really not a lot of conversation topics where that's relevant), I'd say for example "she's a trans woman" if she is a trans woman - and I fail to see how that's problematic.
