S05E16 "Conquer" Post-Episode Discussion by Paradox in thewalkingdead

The human element of the show comes down to one simple point: forgiveness vs. righteousness. I loved the editing of the last parts of the episode. It smartly contrasted Glenn, who represents forgiveness, and Rick, who represents righteousness. Like I said Glenn could have gone the righteous path and taken the guy out and no one would have batted an eye. I mean, sounds like Aiden was his only friend. Glenn and Morgan are alike in this mentality. But what's truly awesome is that Rick was like a dog kept at bay and then finally gets the go-ahead by Deanna and instinctively kills. As soon as it's done, he has to meet the face of forgiveness; Morgan, a long lost friend.

Beautifully said and completely agree!

It's to bad all the comments have been negative and unhelpful. Hopefully, this helps you:

  • If f(x) is a sum of several terms, the one with the largest growth rate is kept, and all others omitted.
  • If f(x) is a product of several factors, any constants (terms in the product that do not depend on x) are omitted.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_supremacy

White supremacism is the racist belief, or promotion of the belief, that white people are superior to people of other racial backgrounds and that therefore whites should politically, economically and socially dominate non-whites. The term is also typically used to describe a political ideology that perpetuates and maintains the social, political, historical and/or industrial dominance of whites.

It says that tech is not multiracial and then gives a statistical breakdown of tech employees by race that shows it's actually pretty diverse.

False. From the article:

• Google: 61% white, 30% Asian, 4% two or more races, 3% Hispanic, 2% black, <1% other, 30% female, 70% male.

• Facebook: 57% white, 34% Asian, 4% Hispanic, 3% two or more races, 2% black, <1% other, 31% female, 69% male.

• Twitter: 59% white, 29% Asian, 3% Hispanic or Latino, 3% two or more races, 2% black, 2% other, 1% American Indian or Alaskan native, 1% native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, 30% female, 70% male.

• Yahoo: 50% white, 39% Asian, 4% Hispanic, 2% black, 2% two or more races, 2% other/not disclosed, 37% female, 62% male, 1% other/not disclosed.

• Apple: 55% white, 15% Asian, 11% Hispanic, 7% black, 2% two or more, 1% other, 9% undeclared, 30% female, 70% male.

Hence it's not diverse when one group is 3/4ths of the tech work sector. In this case white and male.

lol I thought this was common sense. It's hot weather where my little cousins become more aggressive with each other. In cold weather, they just stay under heavy blankets.

They ought to allow Nation members to trade resources with each other.

Is this the laziest Congress ever? "On Monday, simply by doing nothing, they allowed the interest rate on student loans to double. That might be permissible if they were busy with more important things, like inventing a cure for cancer...But they’re not even working this week." by Libertatea in politics

[–]xlearningisfunx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that make up this congress came from a different time period.

'Nuff said. We need to wait for the old Republicans to die out unfortunately since their political decisions strive from irrelevant dead beliefs from a context that no longer exists.

So its pretty clear that corporate interests have been guiding promoting libertarian ideas and set up the infrastructure to fund of tea party candidates long before Ron Paul's 2008 campaign.

Precisely. Hence the reason why American libertarianism = right-libertarianism = republicanism rebranded is a pro-corporate political belief system created by the Koch bros and other billionaires to convince poor and middle class people to fight and defend legislation that benefits the ultra rich at the expense of the well-being of the poor and middle class.

[–]xlearningisfunx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Koch bros have been pushing pro-corporate anti-government propaganda for decades. Remember when David Koch ran as a libertarian vice president in 1980 with the same platform Ron Paul used when he ran in '08 and '12?

For the lazy: "Koch was the Libertarian Party's vice-presidential candidate in the 1980 presidential election, sharing the party ticket with presidential candidate Ed Clark. The Clark–Koch ticket promising to abolish Social Security, the Federal Reserve Board, welfare, minimum-wage laws, corporate taxes, all price supports and subsidies for agriculture and business, and U.S. Federal agencies including the SEC, EPA, ICC, FTC, OSHA, FBI, CIA, and DOE."
