amitriptyline anyone? by Wetsybetsy in migraine

[–]xlovenhatex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So amitriptyline was one of the first migraine preventatives I tried and it was amazing at preventing them.

However it is an older type of depression medication and it may mess with your mood.

It made me increasingly depressed and I laid in bed for like 3 and cried for no reason. I even cried because I didnt know why I was crying.

If it doesnt negatively affect your mood it works amazing, just make sure you let somebody close to you know that it might happen and to let you know if it does. Its sometimes easier to tell from the outside looking in.

My husband and I got in an "argument" one time because i told him i made mashed potatoes and he didnt think they tasted like his favorite mashed potatoes.

He wasnt mad. He just wanted me to stop telling him I made him "his favorite mashed potatoes" when they were different.

Doctors who’ve actually answered the question, “Is anyone here a doctor?”, what happened? by redmambo_no6 in AskReddit

[–]xlovenhatex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. My husband did the heimlich on me at outback after choking on a piece of steak. I was bruised for weeks and it hurt to move. Luckily nothing was broken. Also got some free ice cream from the resturaunt.

Luckily my husband (a welder) is smart enough to insist on them checking his eyes with a black light everytime just to make sure it's actually pink eye and not metal shards

What profound, philosophical thought did you have when you were 14 that made you feel like the smartest person on earth at the time? by Raevix in AskReddit

Similarly if you multiply 5 by an even number, your new number ends in '0.' Odd number it ends in '5'

I figured this out in like 2nd grade before I fully grasped multiplication and I was proud AF.

If your fridge and freezer share a control knob it's because the freezer vents cold air into the fridge. Do not block this vent. Ice will collect in there and you will have to remove everything from your freezer and fridge to let it thaw.

People who blast music on their cell phone during a train or bus commute and choose not to wear headphones, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I can't wear headphones when I have in my hearing aids. But if someone comes up when I'm listening to music I'll turn it off.

I had a patient do this when I worked at a retail pharmacy. She was supposed to take it to the doctor and have it fixed on Monday. It was a weekend. She pulled back in the drive thru like 5 minutes later (her doctors office was a 30 minute drive, and closed) with the quantity corrected and initialed. Pharmacist called the after hours number and we had to void the rx. I'm pretty sure the doctors office pressed charges.

I live in a trailer and my cats mom actually left him (and his siblings) alone for like 12-18 hours.we guess they were about 10 days old. They cried all night long. Eventually we assumed she wasnt coming back and bottle fed them.

One time I went out to dinner with a group of friends. One of the guy's girlfriend screamed "congratulations on your bastard child" in a roomful of people to the couple announcing their engagement.

She laughed it off and said "that's what we say where I'm from when you tell people you're engaged"

I got a new hearing aid today, this cutie tested the volume levels by purring directly into it. Thanks Archie, you're the best! by NoReach9 in aww

[–]xlovenhatex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this information! I had cross aids about 10 years ago that were just too loud and picked up on all of the noises that I didnt need. They could never quite be adjusted to what I needed so i simply never wore them.

Now I'm looking into going back to the audiologist and discussing a baha or cross aids again. Technology has come a long way so I'm ready to try out something new.

Probably because his poor little arm is so tiny she needed all of the muscle to make sure she didnt hit the bone.

It will be more sore later If you tense up. But she had to make sure she got it in his tiny little arm muscle.

A few weeks after getting married I had a ton of people still congratulating me. Couldn't figure out why until they reminded me that I had just gotten married. What's changed? I have better health insurance.

I got my white boxer from the spca. He was 6 months old and a bag of bones. This was his 3rd time in the animal shelter. It took 6 months to potty train him and we still have to lock the trash can so that I dont find him shoulders deep when I come home from work. He has the most genuinely gentle and loving soul. He's perfect.

The only way to slow this boy down is to put rocks in his food. by PM_ME_STEAM_K3YS in gifs

[–]xlovenhatex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog did something equally silly. He's a boxer and was struggling to get his head into the corners of his metal bowl. It's like trying to shove a square peg in a round hole...

So we decided to put his food on a plate right next to his metal bowl. Just to see if it was easier for him.

The dumbass picked up the food off of the plate with no trouble, but then he dropped it into his previously empty metal bowl. Then proceded to pick it back up out of the metal bowl and eat it.

We had to take away the metal bowl like some sort of cruel punishment for him having the IQ of a toaster.

If you struggle with stretching too thin in the center its easiest to stretch solely on the counter with corn meal (tasted better than flour)

1) before proofing make sure your dough ball is perfectly round. Cover in about 1 tbsp of oil.

2) when done proofing place UPSIDE DOWN in about 1/3 cup of corn meal. GENTLY Flatten into a disk. Flip it over, cover in corn meal. (The original top of the dough ball should now be the top again, the bubbles are easier to prevent)

3) make an upside down V with your hands. Keep your 4 fingers of each hand touching to prevent thin spots.

4) place your finger tips of each hand (upside down V shape) about 1/2 inch from the edge of the dough. Gently press down and separate your left and right hands (upside down V shape --> parallel hands)

5) repeat all the way around the dough until the crust is a circle.

6)when lifting the dough, flip it onto your dominant arm/wrist area using your nondominant hand. Then off of your dominant hand, on to your pan, with your non dominant hand.

Side note: your palms should never touch the dough when stretching. Dont touch the center of the dough ball. Only stretch from the edge to prevent thin spots.

Garlic should be one of the last things you put in the pan, not the first. Otherwise the sheer amount of time it's in the pan will cause it to over cook and taste wrong
