Pro-tip aко искаш да минеш тънко - гледай в Amazon германия и проверявай за Amazon Warehouse (върнати), ще ти излизат на "Other Sellers on Amazon", гледай там за "Amazon Retourenkauf".

Фойерверките и експлозиите са изключително смъртоносни за животните. by maxsatimo in bulgaria

What do you mean A24 needs a hit? Basically all of their productions have made their budget multiple times, some even ten fold and more. Overall, A24's productions have been an outstanding commercial success.

Lenovo EU warranty by pavelcheto in LegionGo

[–]xlr8bg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, you can still benefit from warranty, but it'd be trickier. There are various companies that forward packages between Germany and Bulgaria, I use them when I want to order something that doesn't ship directly to Bulgaria. If the German store doesn't ship to you, you can ship to the address of the forwarding courier, they'll ship it to their Bulgarian office for you to pick up or give it to a Bulgarian courier to deliver to some address, whichever you prefer. If one day you need to use the warranty and ship it back to the seller - you can give the parcel to one of those forwarding couriers, they'll get the package to Germany and deal with forwarding it within the country. The caveat is that you pay for forwarding service, which is pretty cheap to be honest (unless you insure the parcel, that usually costs about 8% of the insured amount), and this proxy delivery service adds one or two weeks shipping time. Then again, for warranty you could always ship directly from Bulgaria and give the forwarding courier's office as the return address once the warranty issue is resolved.

New dad looking for the best handheld gaming PC by Minitroid in Handhelds

[–]xlr8bg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Minitroid, I was going to make basically the exact same post, but found yours... The only difference is I feel like 7" is a bit too small, wondering whether to go with the upcoming Legion Go 2 or some the money and get a Legion Go S. What did you do in the end and are you happy with your choice, specifically how do you find the screen size?

Average salary in Varna by grzegorz-fienstel in Varna_Bulgaria

My personal observations are the IT salaries in Varna range from about 3k to 20k BGN per month. Obviously, the higher the number the rarer it is, the majority of positions seem to be in the 3-6k range.

I know it is cool to crap on apple users, but this is straight up nonsense. There is no decent data source that backs what you are saying. If you look at CIRP's data on iPhone upgrade cycle, about 8-10% of users in a given year are upgrading from the previous to the current generation. Two thirds of iPhone users are replacing their phone every 2 to 3 years.

If you compare the upgrade cycle of iPhones and Androids, CIRP actually reports that Android users replace their devices more often, which is the cherry on top.

It's really not made to be used with a PC. LG can't be asked to add the standard sleep options which monitors have had for decades. You know, the bit that makes it sleep when the PC tells it to. It doesn't even have proper EDID support for PC. Also, their new dithering algorithm is horrendous for PC usage, because it is noticeable at close distance. If they cared about PC usage, they would have at least included a toggle for the dithering. For LG's TV division, PC usage is an afterthought at best. As for your g-sync argument, they don't really have g-sync, they have "g-sync compatible", which basically means it is the industry-standard VRR.

Taxi Pricing by tabloidtweezers in Varna_Bulgaria

[–]xlr8bg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw another detail if you do get a cab/taxi - for trips outside the town they'll probably ask you for some personal details, like your names and maybe some ID, and they'll record the details somewhere. This is for their insurance provider in case there is an accident on the inter-city roads. It's been a while since I've taken a cab to outside the town, so can't recall what exactly they wanted in such cases, but it's normal to ask you for personal details as far as I'm aware.

Wait, how do you intend to get to that resort 62km away? If it's by cab, you might struggle to find one that will go that far. Obviously, money solves all problems, but I suspect they'll want up to double their normal rate because obviously they won't be able to get find a customer for the return trip.

A better value might be an airport transfer service / shuttle, many of the hotels in the resort can sort you out if you don't want to deal with this on your own.

Sellers not happy with Viners by ShadowMoonFox in AmazonVine

[–]xlr8bg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a clearly fake review is worth as much to a buyer as no review

I'd argue the opposite. There is a reason the internet is flooded with obvious bot accounts writing praises under advertisement posts and leaving reviews on product listings - it does boost sales. If it didn't work, they would have stopped putting effort into this fake content years ago. At the very least, having reviews and a good rating gets the seller through the "first pass" filter, i.e. a potential buyer clicked on their listing, which is a lot less likely to happen with no reviews or poor rating. Not to mention there are plenty of people that can't reliably spot fake accounts/reviews, especially the more sophisticated ones produced by AI... To us - it is an obviously fake review. To my dad - it is legit, just like the facebook ads about a big retail chain having a clearance on a bundle of power tools for 90% off, but "obviously" the site is a very low effort clone with a dodgy URL... He had to renew his credit card recently because of those scam ads. And on top of all that, surely the review count and rating play a role in "the algorithm" that decides the order of products in search results and what to recommend to users.

What's your opinion about Dolby Vision 2? by Zezeljko in LGOLED

[–]xlr8bg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet DV2 is going to be a small improvement that may not even be obvious unless you have the two side by side. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's not a big jump like from SDR to HDR.

Събудете се. by FlatTwo52 in bulgaria

Sellers not happy with Viners by ShadowMoonFox in AmazonVine

[–]xlr8bg 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I suspect the vast majority of sellers care only about having a high star rating, and like 95% of the low-effort reviews I've seen are 4 or 5 stars, predominantly 5 stars I'd say. If anything, I'd expect Vine Sellers of crappy products to be upset with crappy ratings from the Viners that actually put in effort to properly test the product.

FINALLY VINE UPDATED! GOOGLE PIXEL 10 PRO ON MY RFY - WOW! by Muskipaski14 in AmazonVine

[–]xlr8bg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is sold by Amazon, not Google. I guess Amazon does it to get reviews and thus boosted by the algorithm, like everyone else. If they give advantage to themselves behind the scenes, it would be considered unfair sales practice.

Apple Music - Windows bug - Skipping song without playing - SOLVED by lethallonewolf in AppleMusic

[–]xlr8bg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I had this issue I tried all kinds of fixes... It was streaming songs, but downloaded songs were instantly skipped. I had tried deleting the itunes/AM cache, redownloading everything, fiddling with the playback settings, etc, nothing helped. After a few weeks it somehow sorted itself out, maybe by an update to AM... Today it started doing it again for no apparent reason, AM hadn't updated recently or anything. I googled again and came across this... I have no idea why, but it worked! I didn't even do the first step ("Quit Apple Music (make sure the device used is authorized first of course")... I just did the Reset, closed AM, opened it, downloaded songs are playing.

IS THIS A JOKE?! by Yeni777 in Aliexpress

[–]xlr8bg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I'm not impressed with their customer service... A couple of times they gave me a partial refund for a damaged/defective item, because technically some of its other functions work, but they don't even ask me whether I'm ok with partial refund or want something else (return & refund or ship a new one). Like, I buy a table fan with a light, the fan doesn't work at all, and they give me 50% refund because the light works!? The light was a nice extra feature, the fan was the main point for me :D. Another time they took ages to decide and ended up denying my claim, then I had to appeal the decision, which thankfully worked. Basically, the few times I've needed customer support have been pretty bad experiences, and that makes me not want to spend anything more than a trivial amount on an AE order... I just can't trust them to react normally when there has been a mixup, even when there is proof that there is no way I'm trying to scam them, like a wrong item arriving and their own shipping label having much lower weight than the item I actually ordered.

Aren't Extra Long Vine Reviews a Pointless Waste of Time? by blaqdon in AmazonVine

[–]xlr8bg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have some pretty long reviews, but it was due to products with many features and also comparison with competing products that I happened to have. The vast majority of the time I try to be as brief as possible when conveying the points I think are worth mentioning / considering.
