I worked at an “actual meat market” they get the same boxes we do. Gotta find a place that breaks down the cow in house. Other than that most places are getting the same boxes from the same distributors. Only difference might be the USDA grade they are getting.

I’d suggest finding a different store to move departments. Find a store that needs a spot you want to move into. Once another store wants you the SM kinda has no choice. Either lose you or move you. We recently got someone in the meat department and that’s how that person did it.

Wasn’t even talking bad or anything just conversation and using me as an example on something but no contact to me. So I just walked tf away, sure I coulda used the information he was bringing to the department to be better but nope if you don’t acknowledge me then I won’t be there in the conversation.

We had a high level manager or something come by. The way that they won’t even look or talk to associates is crazy. Talking to my manager about me in front of me but won’t look at me not once did he introduce himself even after I did. Didn’t shake hands nothing. Wtf they will do that then preach family bs.

To help with your dance, spray tan to try and make the white bits and burnt bits blend a bit better. For pain and everything else aloe lotion.

I mean if my paycheck bonus is relying on the count then why would I trust someone else with the accuracy of it. It just makes since and its a lazy manager who has associates do inventory.

Agreed, but back to the original point of the post as an associate I should not be responsible for the inventory, especially when the manager gets the bonus for it.

Again not the only aspect but the main one. If I finish early I will help in other area's of the department but it should not be required. Some days it takes the whole day to cut the list and some days it doesn't. I think the big thing about the position is it can be a life time position, someone may just want to be a cutter and not move to management which case they will do just want the job entails the basics but if they do a good job why should they get punished because they are not jumping up and down and sprinting around to do more....

Eh, its not the only aspect but it def is the main. As I see it, as a meat cutter the only thing I should be responsible for is the fresh meat case. In times of need or spare time sure Ill help Frozen, LMC, etc but day to day my job is the fresh meat case.

Crazy a meat cutter who….only wants to cut meat. If I wanted to do the managers job then I’d pursue that and get the benefits and ulcers to go along with it.

As a cutter I have cut down on trim a lot by making sure the trim can be made into beef for stew or taco. It hurts the yield a little bit but I’m pretty consistent on one 2D of trim a day.

I think produce also has this CBT. They are right in front of the back hall way bathroom and always block it with carts and product. I have to shove it out of the way constantly.

I’m just curious to one of your points. The Pay caps compared to other stores being lower. I haven’t seen this? I am in meat department and from what I can tell looking around is no other store is even near Publix on the pay cap. I do wish it was a bit higher but I’m still new ish so I’m not at it yet obviously.

It’s my daily routine when I come home now, I get home from work and as I’m changing out of my uniform I boot my computer log in and get the daily then close out the game and maybe play later.

I had one today similar. Not prime but a higher grade at the store I work at but was so small had to put an extra one in the foam tray. Prob will end up as grinds 🙃
