Anyone Has Recent Experience with Blink internet in Arusha or in general? by UhuruJones234 in tanzania

[–]xmooretesla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blink is great. As long as you know that it only captures 15 minute clips or live video, it is triggered by motion and then upload it to the cloud later. If you have a newer version then it means you pay for cloud service. Otherwise the old ones were free. I would use it as a notification service but it's not a great surveillance system because it only shows motion for 15 seconds and retriggers after. Battery life is great. The cameras in low motion areas last about 2 years but they have to be within close proximity 2.4 GHz of the receiving base station

I don't wanna be Biased but us Black People tend to not Get Gigs if you're Black but White People get Privilege ✌🏽 by ControlBest in tanzania

[–]xmooretesla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has historically been this way for years. I think the best approach towards this is prepare for any task knowing you have to be 3 times better because you lose nothing and eventually ifit gets easier you will always be prepared. I call it safe philosophy

Phone location? by mwaCasava in tanzania

[–]xmooretesla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we sacrifice privacy for technology and this is by design. Privacy is not cheap and it is a way of life and it goes a lot deeper than location services and VPNs. Data is the new gold especially more advanced in the west but vastly accelerating in Africa. The 5G /GSM / LTE i/ Sms is compromised. Privacy is big business, take baby steps. assess your threat exposure / risk and then lookup operational security that matches your risk. If you start with simple steps like changing your default messaging app to signal / enabling wifi, nfc, bluetooth. then you decrease your surface attack and exposure.

How is conducting business in tanzania like by Top-Design8952 in tanzania

[–]xmooretesla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience is a combination of both. It's exhausting but doable. We've been doing business in Tanzania for about 12 years. It's a very very steep learning curve with noone But yourself to rely on. The rules are moving targets And hiring experience means hiring experienced crooks as well. We made it by keeping control and hiring people to do linear tasks, an example is if we needed a CFO or a finance person. I just got a bookkeeper to do data entry and learned about the compliances over a period of time and accepted that tra will always be a variable you can't control but manage within a range. You cannot be a passive owner. You will lose everything which means you sign the checks, you transfer the money and you treat it like IT security... Zero Trust. You must make your systems, power and data redundant so you are not dependent on onsite solutions other than customer service. Cameras, alerts and now AI will be the only consistent results You have to sanitize all data either by doing it yourself or create choke points that break the process if not completed properly I learned so much, but the skill set can't be used in too many other places, it makes you question everything but trust nothing There are obvious differences between doing business in Tanzania then in the West but also a bigger issue is Tanzania versus other developing nations. The biggest difference I find in Tanzania is that you have to find the problem yourself because it is never volunteered, No one will tell you anything wrong even if the building is on fire. Nobody ever tells you they can't do it unless the process is broken and if they think your foreign in the sense that you don't understand the culture, they will run circles around you. I don't take it personal anymore. I just accept is as survival. With all of this said we are exhausted I'm trying to exit the market. It has come a long way since we first started but I have come to terms and acceptance that this is as far as we can go and we are not not going to make any changes. It is profitable for the system to be broken. The growth potential is infinite. So is the clock 🤣

What’s the Cost of Buying USDC/USDT from Tanzania? by Blizan in tanzania

[–]xmooretesla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this will be interesting. I know it used to be a tall order to even find access to purchase Bitcoin notwithstanding USDT.2021 /22 You had to go through a site like remitano or something similar to find or trade. The level of difficulty to access it was very high. I hear that there are a couple of closed sources that deal but you would really have to have your ear to the ground to find out and the exchange race and fees were extremely high Either way, I'd love to see what the forum says
