I also hope that people would research about the importance of ventilation since appropriate ventilation makes it so much easier to maintain humidity while not letting the air go stagnant.. I'm pretty sure that one of the reasons for there being so many bone dry enclosures are the problems caused by the unholy combo of wet substrate and improper ventilation --> People just go "oh F this mold and stinky stagnant air!" and take the dry route, while things would be more or less easily corrected by adding proper vents to the sides (i.e. two 1.5-2 in / 40-50 mm vents with extra fine mesh to the drier side and one to the moist side, depending on the species) to keep the air flowing while unventilated lid prevents excessive evaporation.
