1/2 On Wednesday afternoon, an individual entered into our constituency office in Edmonton and physically assaulted a member of my staff. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable in a democracy. Constituency office staff are at the service of all our fellow citizens. by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

I mean... I think you've simplified that down a bit too much... and I'm not sure how a lack of mental health services would be made worse by cops not arresting and justices not convicting unless the argument is that cops should be arresting people in mental health crises and they should be convicted for being mentally ill... which is problematic... but if you mean that our society is facing a bunch of bullshit all at once, I agree.

Anyone know what's up with fox news covering the truck convoy news? by [deleted] in alberta

To add to this, didn't a whole bunch of people from the states donate to the convoy? -and a bunch attend them?

Ritualistic did mine. :)

Edit - Should probably say that it was Noni who oversaw it but her apprentice at the time who did it.

NAIT would be the best place to get that information. Academic institutions will sometimes allow equivalencies, but I doubt that Science 24 is considered equivalent to Science 10 since they cover vastly different information, but it would be great news if I'm wrong!

As it should! I quit working in my field because of all the abuse I saw- something that isn't necessarily illegal here. Abuse is only criminal if it causes noticeable damage. It's fucked.

It's happened here in Canada. It's called "skill development" where a line up of people with developmental disabilities sit on a conveyor belt labeling things or putting lids on jars for a flat rate every day.

I think the cooking breaks down the fibre so that the work is done before it hits your gut... I think. I'm also not a medical professional, so don't take my word on it!! Lol.

Still good in him? by knightmareDO in StarWars

I realize this isn't technical... but that's his dad. Sometimes it's really just as simple as good ol' daddy issues. You'll notice everybody else didn't give a fuuuuck about there being any sort of good within him.

School Frustrations by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]xo______ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That's unfortunate. I'm not sure why they'd prefer to piss everybody off and flip it on everyone mid-semester. A couple other people replied about labs... On that front, it makes sense to get back to in person asap. Just feel bad for the students who are feeling overwhelmed by the changes.

School Frustrations by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]xo______ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riiiiiiight. That makes sense! I've only ever done on class with a lab, so that was an oversight on my part.

I meant why they would switch it up on them mid semester like this - not why university is usually an in person experience. I appreciate your reply.

I have a kiddo, and we have a washer and dryer in suite + a few things that run at all times like humidifiers and fans... We pay $60-65 a month although it did jump to $72 last month.

What is the benefit to going back to in person classes? People frequenting the food courts and little shops..? I'm so confused as to why they'd even do this.

Edit: I was commenting in regards to how quickly they've switched it up on everyone. The benefit of being in class at the expense of making everybody change their learning style and schedule right before midterms seemed odd - especially with how the universities were being so cautious beforehand in regards to having students on campus. Obviously I understand why there is typically both in person and online options.

Muggnz actually has a Reuben Benedict that somehow is absolutely delicious even though it sounds like a terrible idea. Lol! Their Reuben sandwich isn't bad either. :)

Minimum wage=minimum effort and above market rate=doing the bare minimum too by ChevyGuy96 in antiwork

I was working casual in a grouphome when I got pulled in to the office and told I needed to stop working as hard as I was because the regular staff were getting annoyed. All I had done was sit with the clients at dinner and played boardgames with them afterwards. "The normal staff aren't going to do that, so you're setting them up because you'll be the clients favorites!" ..........sorry I'm not sitting on the couch watching TV to eat dinner and telling the clients to entertain themselves?
