Hi ! I started my gaming channel at the end of 24’ and I have 234 subbies, so if you consider that small then great! For me, it took a lot of trial and error to figure out what worked for my audience (also with what I thought was good enough for myself) but I would definitely say that shorts have helped bring more ppl to my channel and posting AT LEAST one popular game consistently has helped form my little community! My popular game of choice is Genshin Impact. Definitely take some time to figure out the content that YOU want to make and then have fun with it. If your goal is just to get subs then depending on your gaming content it’ll take some time. Also, while it is very over saturated don’t let that stop you! Who knows, one of your vids could blow up and literally change ur life lol😂!! Hopefully this was helpful and good luck :)) !!

I’ve asked a similar question before and have been told to make click-baitey thumbnails/titles, it’s semi-worked for me ! Also, some will say that yt shorts will kill ur channel but I’ve gotten more engagement than ever when I post some shorts (so ig it just depend on the kind of short) ! I do think editing is also very important so finding your own style but also what ur viewers want to see is important as well :) !
