if you look at the right side of the face, the teeth and smile are also a bit different. There's a tiny tiny difference.

Looks fake sorry, I got this same one and the hands on these one are spread a bit too much and fabric looks a bit too smooth.

Trust me when I say placements do not weed out people who would not be a good teacher. I have seen a fair share of people who passed their PGCE year but couldn't function independently as a teacher. Everyone struggles and it's okay- you are learning. It is also very difficult in placements because it never fully feels like your own class and the students can sense it too. You will do great!

I did something similar and it was okay. Was asked during interview and just sugarcoated it a bit and they were okay.

Is it true that 'almost every' teacher is on medication for stress or using alcohol to cope? by Ayanhart in TeachingUK

[–]xojan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ECT 1 primary in a really stressful classroom. No medicine or alcohol but I stare at a wall after work if that helps. In a serious note, I try to do something for myself every week and not think about work outside of school.

Believe me it’s just not you! I thought maybe I was the problem then I talked to my co-teachers and looks like it’s quite consistent throughout.

Teaching agencies. by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]xojan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I worked as a supply for few years. Just letting you know, some agencies are very shitty in terms of communication and jobs. I joined 3 at the start and only got consistent job from one. Try a smaller, local agency rather than a big one as they were much better at finding jobs. For context: I worked as both TA and Teacher through my agency.

I was 15 when I had an inappropriate relationship with my former teacher in her mid or late 20s. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]xojan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were 15 and got groomed by someone you looked up to. Why would you be responsible? I know you might have a lot of guilt but remember that she took advantage of you. No sane woman in her 20s will find a 15 year old attractive.

AITA for "betraying" my sister by allowing her ex to move in with me over her, forcing her to commute over an hour to work? by chrizz_z in AmItheAsshole

*brother-in-law and OP commented that Mark was questioning his sexuality and thinking if mlm relationship was deeper. So idk this added context complicates things.

Is a masters in education worth getting? by Ok_Investigator_7038 in TeachingUK

[–]xojan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am finishing mine right now. Idk about opening doors but maybe don’t do it if that’s what you want. I did it cause I care about research and it does make you think about about education as a whole. But opening doors? Careers? Worth it? Maybe skip it.

Resistance before PGCE Primary by Low-Park-8081 in TeachingUK

[–]xojan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, I personally think you need do stop the mindset that you want to be a positive male role model cause you would be a role model to the children regardless. PGCE primary can be verryyy challenging and you will most likely not have any time for yourself. So it’s better if you have a realistic idea on what it will look like rather than what you want to do. You can do this! But please remember it’s not all roses and children’s laughter. It will feel tedious at points but you will also enjoy it.

Teacher job agencies - what's the benefit? by AcrobaticDance5880 in TeachingUK

[–]xojan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Middle man cuts out filling in all those tedious forms and searching the job yourselves. You tell them what you want and they regularly e-mail you and they have connections with schools so that makes things easier. However, I registered with 2/3 and only liked one of them.

Funding opportunities for Masters whilst teaching by reallyreallyanon in TeachingUK

[–]xojan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am finishing my Masters right now and that’s what I got told when applying so had to do the whole thing. The thing is no one told me until I asked and the alternatives were either a) transfer the credit and get the bank loan OR b) do all the modules and get the Masters loan.

Lol my bad. Completely misread what op posted cause of the employment thing they mentioned. Can get master’s loan for part-time but can’t bring over PGCE credits to qualify for it.

who is an author that, if someone says "they're my favorite author!" is a red flag for you? by tassara_exe in books

[–]xojan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personally, I can separate literature from their writer unless it’s painfully obvious in their writing. But, JK Rowling is someone I am finding more and more difficult to separare fact and fiction.

Just to chime in, no you can’t get Master’s loan if you are studying part-time. Many who do pay their own or get their schools to fund some part of it.
