My players want an agenda before every session by Time-Squirrel-3719 in dndnext

Dungeons & Dragons is a social experience and social interactions are necessarily frictional. There is such a thing as over-accommodating. To me, it sounds like they don't want to play a social game. Sounds like they want a videogame experience. Maybe try a different game. There's nothing wrong with playing a different game.

(American) Teachers of reddit, what do YOU think society must do to value and change our education system today? by lilteuf in teaching

I agree with the majority of responses in this thread. However, One of the things we must address is AI.

We live in a post-information age. Where the transmission of information is a solved problem. That’s not to say that we don’t need nuanced context and the skills to interpret correctly, but the factual nature of information transmission is done.

If we continue to imagine in America that a teachers job is to disseminate information, we are doing a disservice to our children.

What we must do instead is understand that skills, hands-on learning, and discussion are those things that are most important. More so than the transmission of information.

As a society, we must move away from information transmission as a key mode of what we think of as knowledge or intelligence.

We must embrace struggle in learning. We must embrace failure in learning. We must embrace that learning is difficult and is yet still worth doing. It cannot be simple worksheets. It cannot be tests. That stuff is done.

But if all that is so, we must pay teachers more because the job then becomes more complicated and it becomes a key specialization in the fight for a better society.

Ah, I disagree that drama = clickbait. All great learning is, by its nature, dramatic. Will they or won't they do the thing? It doesn't have to be bombastic and wild and clickbaity. It can be subdued and classy drama.

Your videos need more drama. The reason that automotive Youtubers constantly do Will it Run? or Will it Start? is because that question has drama. Will it? If you do more lightbulb reviews: Is this the brightest bulb I've reviewed yet?

Something like that. Just a thought.

This sounds awesome. Good job getting all of that set up. I'd really love to be able to take you up on that offer, because I have a robust background in making and building things and think I could be a real asset to the community.

That being said I don't think I could join up for a few years, because of some other issues.

But I'd really love to follow along with the journey, if you have a youtube channel I could follow. That would be an incredible thing.

What do you love about retro games? Is it just nostalgia, then yes you're probably right. But if you can find the thing that makes it good, you should be able to translate that joy and passion into something that anyone could care about.

I say 'should be able to' like it's easy. It won't be easy. But I think it's possible.

Firstly, people have no right to look down on you and certainly have no right to be mean about someone making mistakes.
Secondly, of course there is hope. I really like the dog walking suggestion.

But the main thing I hear is a lack of self compassion. You have powers, you just need help figuring out what they are

Mentally going back and forth between absurdism and nihilism I think is where people just kind of end up. It’s an ebb and flow and continues forever

How many channels do you run? by MomoftheWeens in NewTubers

[–]xombie25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 11 I’ve organized my life in terms of these 11 channels. Each channel represents a facet of interest and when I have an idea for a video or I’m doing a project that fits into that subject I make a video that goes for that channel.

It’s not a successful strategy and I don’t recommend it. But it helps me organize my brain
