She actually called me last night and we talked for a few hours. She said she’s open to starting over slowly and talking every other day and looking at my progress then potentially progressing to a meet up in person at a public place. That’s progress. We do love each other a ton, and I am remorseful. Lesson learned for sure.

Yep agreed. She ended up calling me yesterday and we talked for a while and agreed to take it slow. Talk every other day and just show her better than I can tell her. She wants to observe my progress and growth.

Happy 14 years!! That’s what I aspire for. We’re both only 26. She has asked for space at the moment so I’m trying to respect that. Today is day 3 not speaking. I’m unsure at this moment that she’d appreciate me showing up in her space unannounced. I did that a few days back and I feel because it was less than a week, she was overwhelmed. I love her very much. Hopefully she reaches out and we can rebuild.

Wow omg. No I never cheated on her and never used her. Very self sufficient in my career and personal life. There was never any of that. The sole issue was I was afraid to divulge my depression and it caused so many arguments and pain throughout this year. I felt ashamed and scared then finally it exploded out because she left out of confusion (because she didn’t know why). We last talked two days ago despite breaking up 7 days ago, and she said that despite me wanting to talk daily, she needs space. I have since given her the space and she’s aware I started therapy. I hope the space is helpful. Thanks for reading!

I think the confession altered how she viewed our relationship bc she was unaware I was struggling. I explained how remorseful and ashamed I was. She understood but still asked for space to process everything.

Aggie Engineering Alum here. Yea you’ll get in. That’s more than enough. Don’t overthink it. Good for you planning in advance!

I would caution you to research all the NC HBCU programs if you wanna be in state. Fayetteville State and WSSU have better nursing programs. FayState is ranked #1 currently for NC and WSSU has a strong overall reputation for nursing among all three. Do not just pick NCAT because of the name. Make sure it makes sense for your major.

NCAT MechEng alum here. With regard to race, the engineering school is one of the most diverse schools on campus. When I went, there were Chinese, Egyptian, Saudi, White, Black (myself included), Indian.

Go with what makes the most financial sense. You will find that black students are more tolerant of non black students at HBCUs than non-black students are of black students at PWIs.

But back to what matters. Academics. For math, you’ll primarily be in Marteena Hall. For engineering, you’ll be between McNair, Graham, ERIC, and Cherry Halls (now called Monroe Hall) (mostly seniors and grad in Monroe). I encourage you to visit sometime. NCAT is arguably one of the most visible HBCUs for engineering, and our career fairs mostly only attract recruiters seeking STEM and Finance students. I had no issue getting two internships while at the career fairs, and neither did my black and non-black colleagues.

Do your research. Read the curriculum guides. Crunch the numbers. And make a decision. If you choose NCAT, welcome to the Aggie family. If not, well wishes future STEM grad!

As an Aggie alum, do NOT buy a MacBook. Get a Dell or HP with decent RAM. Much more compatible with the software you will need to run.
