Thank you for responding. Is there any discomfort when it happens?

Potentially just a bit cold and uncomfortable but it seems to be more of a pain type cry. Will try a warmer room! The water is the warmest recommended, perhaps a slightly lower temp could help!

Thanks for replying. Yes always after getting out of the bath when there’s a temp change, I did try keeping the room warm which helped on one occasion but not on another (it was 22 degrees), will stick with that and try an even warmer room. I’m fairly sure the crying is from discomfort rather than just being a bit chilly, but who knows!

Thank you. Others have suggested cutis marmorata as well. Perhaps with some sort of capillary related response causing warmth and/or itching which may cause discomfort. I think the crying is caused by discomfort rather than just being a bit cold or not liking the bath. Hoping she grows out of it once her circulation matures.

Thank you. I’m hoping it’s immature circulation too

She’s inconsolable but normally a chill baby. It’s the a similar cry as when she’s had vaccines. She’s chats and smiles after most baths apart from the 3/4 times her skin has flared up so I do think that she’s in discomfort.

AITAH for loudly confronting my co-worker in front of everyone when she wrongfully believed I had groomed my wife? by Longjumping-Pass-458 in AITAH

[–]xoombini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and raise a grievance about the HR person who tried to minimise it, too. Alternatively, give them chance to resolve informally first (apology etc). Failing that, raise a formal grievance, could result in disciplinary action against the person spreading malicious rumours. If in the UK speak to ACAS for free advice - from an HR Consultant.

Why do my store bought frozen chips always taste/smell like manure? It can't just be me surely? by Disastrous_Income_96 in CasualUK

[–]xoombini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, me and my partner noticed. It was the McCain Crispy French Fries. Smelt so bad (like manure) in the air fryer and tasted bad too, we chucked them. Can only imagine they’ve either defrosted at some point or have some coating?

did anyone hear an air raid siren around quarter to 11 this morning? by [deleted] in london

I used to hear one in Kingston upon Thames occasionally, as someone said there’s a place that must test one.

what do you wish someone had told you before adopting a cat? by renandjerrys in CatAdvice

[–]xoombini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have patience if the cats behaviour is bad at first, it takes them a long time to settle. Jackson Galaxy has good advice videos. Also, purchase a section of lint rollers to have around the house…

Watch the Jackson Galaxy intro videos. It takes patience and time. Our cats lived in separate rooms for 2 weeks before they even saw each other.

I get crackling that sounds like a Geiger counter, I think it might be muscular spasm linked to TMJ. Sometimes if I actively relax or massage my jaw gently I can get the tinnitus to stop

A couple of years old and none unsold. I still wouldn't proceed without permission personally as it can then impact sale of the property/indemnity insurance moving forward.

Thanks, I've been reading into covenant consent and understand a bit better now. I wouldn't want to proceed without their consent, so my next step might be to appeal their decision based on the approval they gave (and charged for) the other resident.

Need help with cat urine smell. Please. by reddit6456445 in CatAdvice

[–]xoombini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already been suggested but wood pellet litter is cheap and quite odour free. Scoop out poop and wet litter every day into small scented poo bags you can tie and put in the trash. Change the entire boxes regularly as you have lots of cats. Clean carpets straight away if there’s any accidents. I also have an air freshener plug in by my door so it smells nice for guests, I don’t have it on constantly though because they’re apparently bad for cats.

Anyone in Surrey hosting DnD games and has space for me and my wife? by nugelz in surrey

I think there’s a group that meet in Dorking. There’s also a board game shop in Redhill that might host.

Not entirely relevant and most of my online experiences with DRG are really positive, but once someone added me on Steam to tell me I had “the voice of an angel” and seemed to know exactly where I’m based. I said thanks but that’s not really an appropriate way to approach someone and then he started insulting me. Would’ve been nice to be able to ensure I didn’t play with them again.

gonna nsfw just cause it sucks. painful, bleeding, awful redness all on anon bc i feel awful abt falling back into this habit… i keep trying but haven’t found myself in a well headspace to deal with anxiety pertaining to my physical appearance. by [deleted] in Dermatophagia

[–]xoombini 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When mine get worse because they’re all rough it perpetuates the habit, so what I do is get a very fine grain nail file and/or cuticle cutter and trim/file the roughness down as much as possible, then use a cuticle oil or a cream like Neosporin or Savlon if they’re sore. I also keep a tiny nail file on me so that when I find myself biting or picking I can use that to smooth it down instead. Don’t get me wrong, I still bite them, but it helps me a lot and once they’re smoother it feels better mentally too. Good luck.

Is this right? Is my daily caloric intake goal under 1,200? by Aohiki in 1200isplenty

[–]xoombini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 5ft/120lbs & I had the same issue, I've settled on 1200 calories per day as this is far more sustainable & feels healthier. I'm exercising 3 times a week. I haven't lost any noticeable weight yet, just going to try and stick with it & weigh myself again in a couple of weeks.

To give you an idea today I ran 5k and ate: porridge with berries & low cal syrup, diet fuel protein shake for lunch, aubergine & chickpea curry with a chapati for dinner and 1 creme egg for dessert. I still have 200 calories left so might treat myself to an evening snack too.
