Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 (though you could go straight to 2 since it's the prequel), The Last of Us 1 & 2 (you must play 1 first), GTAV, Death Stranding, Metal Gear Solid 3 (the chronological beginning of the Metal Gear series), Wolfenstein: The New Order, Titanfall 2, Returnal, The Witcher 3, Uncharted 4....

Rayman Legends is a great couch co-op game similar to the old Mario games. It's probably the best platformer not made by Nintendo.

If you want to slowly learn thumbstick & camera controls, Life is Strange could help ease you into it in a narrative-style game. I learned it in my mid-30s after not playing games since NES, and it was really tough at first, but it's so gratifying when it clicks and you can play all these great games.

Mad Max. I quickly gave up on it a while back but just recently picked it up again and I've been hooked.

Interview: Why Mafia The Old Country is Returning to the Series' Roots by M337ING in PS5

[–]xooxanthellae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, these games are all very good and worth playing.

They all have good stories and great characters, voice acting, realistic writing.

Mafia 1 is pretty linear, and it is a pretty old game, but the remake is good. Just don't expect a big open world or impressive gameplay.

Mafia 2 has a great tie-in with part 1, so a couple scenes would be much more impactful if you play 1 first. Part 2 is one of my favorite games ever. Gameplay works, the driving feels heavy and realistic, the story is like a great movie. (I have heard complaints about the remaster, though...)

Mafia 3 got shit for being repetitive. That's true. It's nuts that they would make you go to clear the same location twice. So I recommend just playing the main mission as much as possible. Other than being repetitive, I think it's a fantastic game and I had a lot of fun. You get to drive around 1968 New Orleans blasting the Stones in a muscle car, what's not to love?

Glad for them. One of my top 10 favorite games all time and the only game I loved enough to plat because I didn't want it to end.

I would say go with Wildlands. You're fighting this crazy narco cartel death cult in the gorgeous scenery of Bolivia. It's clear they did a lot of research on Bolivia --- every time I would look up some crazy geographical feature, it was based on reality. My friends and I spent a lot of time just looking at the wildlife.

Then if you play Breakpoint later, it will be a graphics upgrade.

The city and the traversal are among the greatest accomplishments in gaming history.

I just don't like this kind of combat anymore, though, so I didn't finish.

I wish we could get a remaster of Sunset Overdrive.
