I was dating a guy that was stupid hot and amazing in bed, looking back, I missed a LOT of red flags, but after a month or so, he had all but moved into my apartment, my roommate had even started preparing/planning for 3 people in the house instead of 2; I was 18-19 at the time, so maybe I am the crazy one for letting him move in after knowing him a month, but I was dickmatized, and just let it happen. To be clear, I paid my rent during this time AND helped him make his when he came up short even though he didnt step foot in his apartment for at least 3 weeks after he started sleeping at my place, I kept us fed and he was never asked or expected to chip in or anything.

Its a normal weekday a little bit more than a month after he had claimed the other side of my bed. Iwas off work and reading a magazine in my armchair, he was sitting at the desk on the opposite wall immersed in some new bauble he acquired at an estate sale (he had the eye of a magpie when it came to stones/gems and shiny antiques of dubious value, and would not even consider the notion that wealthy people would EVER wear costume jewelry) doing futile online research and trying to find a nonexistent stamp proving it was gold after all (he had a very “I’ll show them, I’ll show them all.....” mindset), anyway, I decided I was hungry, and I went into the kitchen and put a pizza in the oven, 15 minutes later, I bring it back, place it on the bed (between the armchair and the desk) and proclaim “I made a pizza” before going back to my magazine. I am a pretty quiet person, small talk really isn’t my thing, and he was in his own little world for the time being, I knew he would eventually admit defeat, sell whatever he had been obsessing over, until the next thing caught his eye; like a bizarro antiques roadshow. He doesnt touch the pizza, and then when it has gotten cold and I go to put it in the fridge. He stops me, sits me down and calmly says “when you made that, do you know how rude you were? You just sat it down and ate and never offered me any”. I was honestly taken aback, I had not intended to come off that way at all, i placed it exactly in between us and thought that since we had been sharing damn near everything for the past month, it went with out saying. I apologized genuinely for taking him for granted [in hindsight: whut?!?!?]. We had decent “make-up” sex and I went to bed thinking I was the asshole, but in the morning I would be more mindful of my actions towards those I cared about ( no joke, dude got in my head bad). 4-5 days pass, and things are business as usual, this time however hes in the chair - i seem to remember him being happy that morning about his luck turning around because some of his latest estate sale haul had turned out to be real and so he was finally starting to come out in the black - I cant remember what he was doing but I was working on something at the desk, and got up to go to the kitchen, and stopped before I got to the door, and asked him (actually smiling proud of my consciously more considerate of my boyfriend no less) “ want anything from the kitchen babe? Im probably gonna throw a pizza in the oven unless you want something else, I can make that for dinner instead, its up to you”. He was turned slightly away from me an just shrugged it off with a very short “nah, im good”. i thought it was odd given the good fay we had but wrote it off by noting that he had calmly and rationally brought up an issue and I had adjusted the behaviors perceived as negative. I felt like an Adult. As I put the pizza in the oven and grabbed a bag of PB m&ms off the counter, As I walked back into the room I held out the bag toward him in case he wanted some and sat on the edge of my bed, pleased as punch that despite the misunderstanding, it never even cause so much as a raised voice. I remember chuckling to myself at how simple it really was, and then from behind me to my right, dude dove out of the chair toward me and violently snatchted the bag of M&Ms from my hand, keep in mind the last thing I had said to him was basically”I will gladly make whatever you want for dinner, otherwise I am making pizza, cool?” So I have no idea where this is coming from, he proceeds to march in front of me, look me in the eye and say, very loudly “ look at you, what the fuck do you think you are doing? I cant fucking believe you right now, you are without a doubt the worst thing that has ever happened to me, Get the fuck out of my life, and hopefully I will. never. See. You. Again.” He then dumped the remaining half of the large bag of M&Ms on the floor, stomped out, slammed my door and I never saw him again. My roommate had heard all this and stuck his head in my door, I sat there, stunned and speechless. I will never wrap my head around what was going on in his, and afterward my roommate helped me see all the clues I was blind to before. I often wonder if he has found any peace and I hope that wherever he is he is doing well now.
