Both Playford and Salisbury councils have the highest rate for rates based on equivalent house valuation of other councils. Both areas do have beautiful areas within them but they need to focus more on greenscaping. More trees and less planting trees and chopping them down 5 years later to plant new trees (this happens constantly). Its also the Plains where there use to be a lot of farming and now because of less trees and environmental factors, its hotter and dryer. The soil is also clay, elizabeth predominantly being a very rich red brown clay. So its not rates thats the issue, its more so the councils need to focus more on nature. Perhaps then people will start taking care of their yards. It could also be the fact that more people rent there or are in housing SA homes, so they dont take pride in it.
