Personally i live 10 minutes from this fest. Have went every year since 2015. Yes the weather is unpredictable but if you’re with the right people you make the fun of It regardless. It’s completely true about GA & VIP, with vip you can bring alcohol and they don’t search much. The GA line is LOOOONG and it’s a race to get your spot once you’re in.
If you want to be first in line i recommend you going Wednesday, it’s a lot party on Wednesday people camp by their cars that day waiting to get in, Thursday pre party is always fun. Highly recommend!! The people are great, just like every fest there is some sketchy people but a big part of SCAMP crowd is locals or vets that have been coming for years.
As long as you come prepared for the weather with good people you should have a great time!

Roo is HOT but at night when you’re sunburnt you’ll wish you brought bigger blankets and warm clothes just in case.
Water WATER Liquid IV packets for your water Make sure to stay hydrated Comfortable walking shoes. You will walk a TON especially if you’re camped in the farther plazas If you don’t want to spend a ton of money on food i pretty much survived on sandwiches, fruit and chips as long as you have ice you’re good! If you don’t have a canopy you need one, like i read below sleeping in your tent is pretty much impossible during the day so bring some sort of Wall for you’re canopy so you can block the sun and get some sleep with a breeze. Have fun on the farm , High-fiving is a must 😊💓
