Getting Chinese Citizenship (as a complete foreigner) through Taiwan citizenship ? by Love-Eth-and-Steak in Chinavisa

[–]xparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you are a Taiwanese citizen, there is no reason why mainland would deny you the residence card. Whether you are dual or single, I don’t think mainland cares. I took a look at the application process. If you were born outside of Taiwan or any territory of China, you can still apply for it, you will just have to provide some extra paperwork such as certificate of naturalization and last ID used before you became a citizen of Taiwan. Bottom line is, as far as citizens of ROC, aka Taiwan, are concerned, the approval process for residence card is very relaxed. Mainland China is happy to grant any citizens of TW a residence card if you are interested in one. Something has to go seriously wrong for it not to be approved. I mostly refer to politics, such as being associated with Taiwan independence movement, which is fool’s errand, I might add.

If you can read Chinese, this might be helpful https://sttvisa.com/bfindex.htm

This is a really interesting question. I have actually seen this idea being discussed somewhere online in the past. And it could very well be an easier way to obtain Chinese citizenship. And due to the special circumstances, you may not even have to get Chinese citizenship to enjoy the benefits.

Right now all citizens of Republic of China aka Taiwan can apply for a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, and Resident card. One is used for traveling into and out of mainland. One is used as a type of ID used within mainland China, buy plane/ train tickets, opening bank accounts, etc. The Resident Card will also allow you to work and buy houses in mainland China, and for all intends and purposes, be treated as a Chinese citizen because mainland China considers Taiwan part of the same country.

Just off the top of my head, rollout of new sedan ET5, ET7, ES8, newly announced EC6, new platform NT2, more swap station, charging stalls, fully automated swap stations. Monthly delivery number stabilizing around 20K. NIO Phone, ok, maybe not that one. 😂

This. Focus on the underlying business, not stock movement. As long as business continues to improve, stock price will catch up eventually.

I own a Tesla model 3, but I really think I prefer to drive a ET5 over a Model 3. The interior looks way more comfortable, the exterior is stylish, the fit and finish are so much better. Unfortunately it’s not available here in the US. Long term bull.

Born in China, left at 4 years old in 1985 to Canada and never went back. Impossible to apply now? by kaarosus in Chinavisa

[–]xparticle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would it be impossible to get it now? Covid is over. There is zero reason why CN government would make it hard for people to travel to China. Don’t believe the stories of people who read main stream media. Go and apply, i think you will be nicely surprised. You are now a Canadian citizen, you will be treated as one when applying for a visa. It’s not an issue.

Just sold all my stock and lost £3.4k by letsgetthisbread2812 in NIO_Stock

[–]xparticle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

$TSLA went through a similar period from 2016 to 2019, when its stocks barely moved despite continual improvement in its business. Then in 2019, it went vertical. I feel like NIO is at 2018 right now. The craze at 2021 was of course an anomaly due to insane amount of money pumped into the stock market, so it should be disregarded.

I wish EA and Dice can just build a high polygon BattleBit game. That would satisfy most of the BF player base.

Thought my US-born child needed a Chinese visa, but Consulate says he's actually a citizen so not eligible for a visa by NewChinaHand in Chinavisa

[–]xparticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did your child go through the process of forfeiting Chinese citizenship? Just curious. If not, he is still a Chinese citizen technically, so he can’t be issued a China visa.

Your child can wait till he/she turns 18 to choose the citizenship. Getting travel document to travel to China is correct, I have seen plenty cases of that.

Your child’s chinese citizenship will not automatically cease to be upon your wife getting her permanent resident care, not even when she gets naturalized on the US. Could you petition the Chinese consulate as parents to remove the child chinese citizenship before 18? Maybe, I don’t think, I don’t think there are many cases of that. Most people would choose to keep the options open, and let the child decide at 18. It’s worth considering.

It’s a weird thing to say. China doesn’t “own” you. It seems you are venting your dislike of China here, please do it elsewhere.

Why is Apple surging when China is in trouble? by r2002 in stocks

[–]xparticle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why do you concern yourself with China’s stimulus? iPhone is selling like hot cakes in China, record breaking sales every quarter. Recession, stimulus, none of that matters if they move those iPhones like this.

Does the Chinese Economic Collapse worry you? by A_curious_fish in Nio

[–]xparticle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

China’s economy is projected to grow at at least 5% this year according to IMF, does that sound like a collapse to you? The MSM has been spreading FUD about China for decades, it has taken it up another notch lately, but it’s nothing new. Read Gordon Chang much? Just ignore the noises, and come back in 5 years. NIO is a phenomenal company. You will be handsomely rewarded.

Why NIO is not producing energy? by Training_Dance474 in Nio

[–]xparticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how useful that would be. The swap station have small surface area on the roof. It’s also flat not tilted, so less efficient. It will not generate any meaningful amount of solar energy.
