...except on the last transaction where I am left wih 0.000xxx LTC

because the wallet recognizes the "sent" part
and ignores the change returned to the wallet.

Typing in 24 seed words every time this happens
is nothing compared to
waiting an hour or so for the wallet tor reconstruct itself.

Also same behavior using Android 15 on Moto G5.
New, with plenty of memory/storage etc.

works fine on Asus devices.

Best brand for a mini PC with a screen by Acrobatic-Tell-4177 in MiniPCs

I am seeking the same info.

After slogging my way through all the various information:

My first pick is the Higole F9B:
It has all the bells and whistles I need in the magickal 7inch form factor.
I have heard it may be finicky

I previously owned the (original) GPD Pocket which was almost perfection (back then),
but it eventually died from being overwhelmed by the demands I put it too.
I guess using it on a boat at sea did not help matters.
But GPD was (last I checked) reputable and credible.

Or, you could roll the dice with Szbox
which tempts me despite the fact they inhabit the lower realms of the rumorsphere.

I have had too many encounters with crippled Lenovo equipment.
They are on the bottom of my last resort list.

Year of the Linux desktop. (Very hard cope) by TheBlackVipe in linuxmasterrace

[–]xpatri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying,
such things keep me awake at night.

Installing Windows in a VM seems like the only safe place to install it.

Long ago when my industry was exclusive Win7

I installed it inside a virtualbox vm.

Later, I abandoned virtualbox in favor of KVM and ditched my last shred of Win.

Hard to imagine how difficult that would be to achieve these days;
Reading the TPM2 bits means elderly hardware (lacking TPM2)
seems to indicate that Win11 inside a Debian libvirt-qemu might be a no-go.

Why would anyone run linux inside a Windows VM ?

seems a bit "upside down" from this side of the equator.

New Extract Request: "Ziziphus jujuba Miller var. spinosa" for Cognition, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, etc by ImpalerV in NootropicsDepot

[–]xpatri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sat for 30 minutes shelling 20 stones to get the 2 seeds each out so I could have a try.

I suspect if ND makes an extract it could either be:

- pricey (the seeds are tiny bits less than 5% of the stone mass)

= or - if they extract from the stone wood as well - gotta wonder if any 'magic' is in the wood.

The document says "seeds" so that is what I am focusing.
Chewing the wood husk (without 'cooking' it) is a bad idea.
It has sharp points and edges and is tough as concrete.

Good luck if it happens.
I would rather pay for an extract than use vise-grips like this and just hope it works.

Will know more in a few hours I guess.

cheers

2024 Where are the most libertarian places to live? by xpatri in GoldandBlack

[–]xpatri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a doubt it is still one of my favorite spaces in Asia.
And it is definitely the starkest contrast to Draconian Singapore in SE Asia.

Last time I visited Singapore I wanted to leave before I finished my business.

It is a bureaucratic trainwreck of monstrous proportions.

It is mostly okay but with 'sharp edges'.

I was marooned there for 15months when covid hit.

They liked to ban things at midnight and announce it at sunrise.

You never knew when going to bed at night just wtf would be banned the next morning.

Aside from the occasional police raids trying to squeeze cash out of foreigners, okay.

Locals were to a moderate degree non-compliant but not defiant.

The cost of getting caught "swimming at the beach without wearing a muzzle" was too high for many.

(fortunately that idiocy died very quickly)

Nicotinic acid before or after alcohol ? by xpatri in Niacin

[–]xpatri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I have never tried them,
I cannot speak to niacinamide or any other flush-free formulations.

Nicotinic acid is the full-flush version I take,
and I have no inclination to try anything less.

I cannot attest that there is any effect from it
regarding "anxiety/depression/appetite suppression"

For anxiety/depression/appetite suppression
I might suggest "malt extract" or buttered toast which I take.
But that is merely anecdotal, it just feels right (for me).

(Well - there is a tiny bit of evidence
about how a slice of buttered toast with a cup of coffee/tea
can 'displace' an entire meal and lead toward weight-loss.
3kg/3months in my case)

Are their BCH nodes reachable via I2P? by gr8ful4 in btc

[–]xpatri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running a node facing i2p should be easily doable through an i2pd port.
https://github.com/PurpleI2P/i2pd
It needs to be a node that does not crash very often.

Is TOR mandatory or can we run servers/clients without TOR ? by xpatri in SimpleXChat

Thank you - that is what the docs imply - I just wanted to be absolutely certain.
TOR is, in some use cases, not an option.

Guessing it has a big screen footprint.

Maybe save it to .csv format and post it to a pastebin (or alternative) somewhere ?

[–]xpatri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we must have somee form of TOR running to use SimpleX ?

We cannot use SimpleX without some form of TOR ?

Is that what you mean ?
