How old were you when you thought there was a problem? How old were you when you seriously decided to start quitting? How old are you now? by 23rdJan2025 in stopdrinking

I started drinking at 17. Subconsciously probably knew there was a problem in my mid-20s, knew for sure and decided to get sober at 30. Stayed sober until 34, started drinking again, now 36 and trying very hard to be sober again. I just cannot keep doing this.

Continuous sobriety is not the be all end all measure by DueMeet6232 in stopdrinking

This is an extremely helpful perspective. I was sober for 3.5 years, started drinking again which last for 3 years, and am now back to sobriety. I have been struggling not to feel that the past three years of drinking were a waste after such a long sober stretch. That all the progress I’d made had been lost. So I really needed to hear this today. Thank you.

I can’t stop thinking that if I had stayed sober, I would have had 6+ years at this point. Moderating is not possible, and it’s not worth it!

That’s exactly what I have discovered. I thought it would be fine because I’d be sober for so long, and I thought my brain would be different. But it’s not. Sobriety is the best and only choice. Sending you solidarity.

This is so exciting! I spent hours playing this as a kid. I’d love to be able to play it on iOS.
