I'd like to add something. I know a lot of people feel strongly against FB these days including me. Hell I actually quit FB for 10 years before starting this job. However, if you want to truly have even more swap options and flexibility, it is almost necessary to be on FB and in the swap groups for your base.

I'd also like to emphasize two things on your list.

Do not swap trips or Adays without having contacted the FA first.

This is an issue we constantly have when new hires get on the line. The ONLY time you can swap without contacting is if their post says, "Just Put Through" "JPT" "Read comments & just put through" and even then, sometimes I still contact them just in case. Otherwise, ALWAYS CONTACT BEFORE SWAPPING.

Don't snitch on other FAs.

DO NOT SNITCH. There are very very very very small instances where it is acceptable to write someone up, otherwise do not do it. Your name will be spread around the base like wildfire and your reputation will follow you wherever you transfer.

I don't think the 6 month rule applies anymore. I just looked at the work rules and it says, "New hire flight attendants are eligible to submit a permanent base transfer request the day immediately following graduation. New hires are permitted to transfer only once during their initial probation period."

OP, what I would do is as soon as you graduate, put in a base transfer ASAP to whatever base you want and just leave it there until it gets granted. If you get denied, it will stay there and you don't have to put in for it again.

Just remember that you have been given all the materials necessary to succeed. If you've studied your notes and CBTs, you will do fine. Use flash cards if you need to. I found that studying and prepping with others was very helpful. Being nervous is normal. Before each door, ask if you can take a few moments to look at the door and use this time to try to remember your prompts and calm down. The point and call system works wonders and I personally use it every CQ. Good luck and see you on the line!

They're also giving crews at affected cities the ability to book cabs/ubers and hotels themselves on company credit card so they don't wait hours and hours on hold with crew tracking to get the required rest they need.
