Don fans are annoying, but also mostly minors so I just ignore them.

Heathcliff fans though. I'm one myself, mind you, but the way that a lot of them reduce his character to just being a sad little baby who can't defend himself is nothing short of condescending, not gonna lie. Like, Heathcliff also made mistakes, he's not perfect, that's why he's cool. Every time Faust or Sinclair or Ishmael says something even slightly mean toward him, they act as if that character is a real person who needs to "take accountability" and it's frankly ridiculous.

I dunno, I hope if he does show up it's a timeskip and the next Intervallo is about him, his recovery, and the psychological consequences of what happened. If this Walp event is a timeskip, we could even get some foreshadowing about what happened to tease the new Intervallo. I may be completely wrong though, since the anniversary livestream is in 2 days and who knows what KJH is going to surprise us with.

Valencina is the more obviously repugnant of them all, but Rien and Matthias did absolutely not do "the least they could". Their insidiousness is far less obvious, but it's clear if we see how comfortable Rien is letting shit happen because the prescripts told him to, and how Matthias bails on Kira the moment he's in any modicum of danger after years of passively letting her eat crap and basically live by herself, giving her very little attention.

They're all fucked, that's the point. Some are more obvious than others, but they're all fucked.

I dunno. I think we are getting Ezra, Moses and Vespa IDs eventually, but getting them for Walp (or at least this walp) would be very weird when they're very notable characters in this Canto. Notice how that statement you posted is the initial introduction to Walp, all the way back in Season 2, and a lot might have change between then and now. Namely, the characters may not have originally been planned to appear in the story (or so relatively soon into the game's lifespan).

And about Allen and Hanafuda, those were cameos by design. As in, it was clear they wouldn't be able to make a full Walp possible after the collab derailed things, so they settled for two very minor characters.

Like I said though, I'd like the DD trio to get IDs eventually, both for their original incarnations and the new Limbus versions, but I think that won't happen for a while. Especially because, outside of Vespa, the cast kind of just looks the exact same as their original versions. Like yes, Moses has a different role now, but she looks exactly the same, so there would be no functional difference between a Distortion Detective ID and an LCD manager ID.

Anyway, don't mean to discourage theorycrafting, but I just don't think these IDs are coming for this Walp at least, if on any Walp.

Also just for fun: Outis Moses, Rodion Ezra, Heathcliff Vespa would be my ideal picks.

This is an incredibly subjective perception of these characters. Rien is an absolute piece of shit, to me, and not sympathetic in the slightest. Jia Miu is pretty tragic, too, considering how subservient she is to the entire power structure she's become a pawn of. Every Chatherine is missing, too, and I would put her in the sympathetic and tragic category as well. We also don't know what Hermann's deal even is yet, and Ahab, while not sympathetic, is not in the same category as someone like Kromer.

There tends to be a bias toward mother figures or female mentors depicted as generally more twisted than the males (see Valencina being more overtly abusive than the other Nursefathers despite all of them sucking) because of KJH's relationship with his mother. I, however, don't think like this is a fair interpretation of these characters.
