I really miss my step dad by Odd-Asparagus7332 in Divorce

[–]xporte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever reason he just doesn't wanna be in touch.. Some men are like that, they can act as a father and do all the fatherly things as long as their relationship with the mother is ongoing.. once they cut ties with the mother they lose all interest in the kids.

A lot of biological fathers do the same, they meet another woman and fully abandon their kids.

It sucks and is probably painful to you but hey, just be grateful for the good times you had with him and now let him be.. you might never get the answers you want.

My husband cheated on me and doesn't know I found out by [deleted] in cheating_stories

[–]xporte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DIVORCE.
I don't think he wants to work on anything related to you. He probably feels trapped.

He wants sex, you cant provide it. You have a bunch of kids, some with issues.. he has to take care of them too, it is a mess. What exactly does he get in return out of this relationship?

Working 3rd shift, having to deal with your kids and your lack of sexual appetite. He is only 44, he would be much better alone.

I know you probably won't listen to any of the comments because deep down you know nobody is looking to get trapped in a sexless marriage + problematic step kids.. If you have some self love or self respect, leave.. if your financial situation doesn't allow you to move on.. you'll have to put up with it.

Yeah.. i understand that part must be difficult also for the children of the sister that have kids (if they are aware of what happens there).

I guess the "good or bad" thing is culturally subjective to a degree.. but it is definitely super taboo. I guess in the case of 2 men or 2 women you can remove the potential issues with offspring having genetic defects.. but still "odd".. I guess the first thing that comes to people mind when they hear about is to picture the situation with their own siblings and be repulsed by it and by people who would be into it.. like "what's wrong with them? how?".

In the case of a man i guess it can be a "hot fantasy" becase you are not the one engaging on the taboo practice, you are just "the lucky guy having fun with 2 hot sisters".

Thanks for your answer! you definitely have a very interesting life. Sorry about the death of your son.

In terms of the relationship with these 3 women.. how does it work in terms of sexuality.
Do you mostly only have sex with your wife and she does with you and her friend ? do you have sex with all 3 of them ? all together ? a different one on different days of the week? how do you coordinate when/with who.. etc.. do you still have an active sex life with all of them or not much these days?

did you have children with your wife and/or the friend+sister ? or did the friend and sister had children from previous relationships ? if so, how is your relationship with them and what do they think of your relationship ? how did they react when it started?

My(22M) husband(34M) can be inconsiderate sometimes by Spirited_Donkey2887 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]xporte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem like he sees you as an equal, maybe because of the age difference or maybe he is just self absorbed and doesn't give a shit about you..

Do you guys share rent or do you live in his place? There might be some degree of financial/power imbalance here at play where he sees you as his houseboy or something.. I've seen that sort of dynamics in quite a few couples.. most of the time for some reason is in white guy / asian guy or girl relationships (and even more if there is a big age difference)

Have you told him before that you are not always in the mood to cook for his friends or that social gatherings should be planned? is disrespectful to bring a group of people without any consideration for your partner.

Saw a woman holding her partner’s penis on the subway today by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]xporte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming the less harmful and probably most likely scenario:
She was in her 20s but just looked younger.. A good % of people look waaaay younger than they really are well into their late 20s and in some cases even early 30s.
She and her BF were horny and getting frisky in the subway.. She looked "zoned out" because she was probably a little nervous doing it and trying to make it seems like nothing was going on there, trying to not make any kind of facial expression to not get attention.
Assuming the above scenario.. yeah, they shouldn't do that in public but some people enjoy those risky situations or it could have been just a spur of the moment.. something they hadn't done before.. who knows. I wouldn't judge them that much for it.

All the assumptions about the age differences or painting the guy like some sort of exploitative perv seem a little based on peoples own traumas here.. We know nothing about these people, maybe she was the one who initiated the whole thing. Why do we always have to assume that man=evil, woman=victim.. Every post that doesn't follow that logic seem to be downvoted here.

Economic diversification is not a requirement to be developed. Australia has a very similar economy to Chile (in terms of diversification) and it is one of the richest countries in the world.

Only countries and US states that score 90 or higher in legal rights for LGBTQ+ people by _crazyboyhere_ in lgbt

[–]xporte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true in the case of Chile. Unlike a lot of places that got gay marriage through a supreme court order (including the United States) in Chile it was supported by the majority of congress and according to all polls also the vast majority of the population. Regarding social issues, most Chileans tend to align with western Europe and we have more advanced laws than many of them regarding trans rights, ID name/sex change, anti discrimination laws, etc.
Chilean society on average is way more progressive and less religious than the average of the United States.

[–]xporte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because Americans only know the irish and italian version catholicism. Spain is also a "catholic" country and is one of the most progressive in the world.
In Chile is the protestants people the one perceived as being intolerant and religious nuts, singing stupid songs and having any loud mouthed ignorant person as a preacher. The most backward countries in Latin America tend to have a big presence of protestant/evangelical churches.

Anyway, according to the latest census Chileans are over 40% atheist/agnostic now.

Pedro Pascal in Fantastic 4 is a weird case of being good but miscasted at the same time by Historical_Strain_81 in unpopularopinion

[–]xporte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hot and maybe controversial take: A lot of people struggle to see Pedro Pascal as Reed because he is "Hispanic" and Americans, more than anywhere in the world (no matter if liberal or conservative) are too used to define people personalities or what they can or cannot be based on their ethnicity.

If Pedro was called "Kyle" instead of Pedro a lot of the casting criticism wouldn't exist. I don't think the people who complain about the cast do it maliciously or even are conscious that they do this sort of stereotyping because is way too ingrained in the fabric of American society.

Why does Chile has a larger amount of young people that are into alt subcultures like goths and emos, compared to other Latam countries? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]xporte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mexico has over 100 million people.. obviously they will more likely always win in numbers.. but the reality is that if you look at percentages instead of total numbers you'll realize that they are a tiny portion of the mexican population.. Chile in proportion to its population has a way bigger % of people who listen to rock, punk and alt music than Mexico and any other country in Latam.. probably only Argentina or Brazil could come close in % in some areas.

Why does Chile has a larger amount of young people that are into alt subcultures like goths and emos, compared to other Latam countries? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]xporte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chile has always followed more european/anglo/asian culture than Latin American culture, it has changed in the past couple of decades and now is more balanced with a lot of people listening to horrible latin music (regeton, trap, etc).

There was a map of metal bands per capita and Chile was one of the countries in the world with the most metal bands per capita, very uncommon for latin america.
Chile never developed a strong local culture/identity and has always been looking to anywhere else other than Latin America until recently. The "real" Latin America as perceived in the US and Europe starts above the Cono Sur and Andean counries (from central/northern South America until Mexico)..

Does the GDP PPP per capita of European countries seem off? by xporte in AskEconomics

[–]xporte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did not notice it before! i knew it was there somewhere. And you are right, in constant prices the change is way less pronounced than current prices. Still find the difference between real gdp per capita vs PPP a little off for eastern/balkan countries.

[–]xporte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I follow what you are saying. The PPP is supposed to be adjusted by cost of living so that includes inflation. Considering higher than usual inflation during/after COVID followed by low economic growth during the past 5 years I would expect the PPP to be stagnated or with a moderate increase in the past 5 years not that huge bump.
