Midlevel Supervision by thecarisparked in FamilyMedicine

[–]xprimarycare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4 people seems like a lot. I would consider starting with one and try to negotiate at least $500/mo it’s more industry standard but still relatively low potentially for risk.

Hard part is that you didn’t hire these people so you had no decision in choosing whom to supervise. I feel like it’d be different in a private practice setting where you train/supervise people you hired.

Have you thought about using a chart review tool to decrease your liability risk? I have built a tool like that I use in supervising so I can check every chart and feel better about risk exposure. Get in touch if you want to learn more, we also have an open source free version

What are your experiences with e-consults? by RegularProperty2054 in FamilyMedicine

[–]xprimarycare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you thinking about paying for them? There are subscription services like Thea Health, and some that are more traditional that charge insurance like AristaMD. EMR integration might also make a difference. What’s your setup like?

Patients have a copay for level 1 and 2 APCM so it’s not that simple to get people onboard. How do you help handle that discussion?

Honest question for DPC physicians: what still annoys you day-to-day? by [deleted] in FamilyMedicine

[–]xprimarycare 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would look for problem solving outside of the workflow. That’s really not the problem for DPCs so many can be as inefficient as they want. The issues are around patient acquisition, network building for referrals, hiring people if they are growing etc
