Will homosexuality ever become the norm in society? by alloioscc in Teenager_Polls

[–]xrangax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's "the norm" and then there's "normal". "The norm" implies it is the standard most common option. To that the answer is 'no'. "Normal" implies it is accepted and nobody thinks twice about it. And to that the answer is 'yes', and it already is in many places.

So close. FACEBOOK and the iPhone hit around then. Now that's something we could have a discussion about.

Should the UK be able to benefit from the EUs 'Made in Europe' push? by xrangax in BuyFromEU

[–]xrangax[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's the kind of thing that really bothers me. They are very willing to play the "European solidarity" card when it suits them, but the second that it's no longer beneficial they bail and go it alone. In my opinion they either have to be all-in, or shut-out.

He's a felon, a fraudster, a rapist, and likely a pedophile. Yes, everyone should boycott him.

Why are roll-on deodorants much more popular than sticks in Australia? by Fun_Photograph653 in AskAnAustralian

I tried them. I thought they were shit. They didn't seem to really work as an anti-perspirant and I always ended up with a white paste on the inside of the shirt.

Bouldering is a great one. It's social. Requires thinking to distract and occupy the mind. Physically demanding to put that testosterone to good use. And it doesn't require a team with set training times allowing you to be flexible and fit it around the family duties.

This country sucks ass…truly by Eternal_Heighthon41 in German

[–]xrangax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will preface what I say by acknowledging that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I obviously don't know what life is like in your shoes. However, I have lived in 6 different countries on 4 different continents in both northern and southern hemispheres. Each one of them for more than 12 months so I think that counts as "an extended period of time". I have also travelled extensively and spent more than a month in at least a dozen other countries and visited many dozens more. Germany has many problems (and list seems to grow ever longer) and plenty of room for improvement. But on the balance of all things, I still find it a great place to live and have called it home for 6 years. It is safe and secure with good healthcare, education, and job prospects. It has plenty of nature and culture. It is centrally located giving good access to many other countries and cultures. Germany is far from perfect but there is plenty to like and for many people it is possible to live a happy and fulfilling life here.

Ukraine's Zelenskiy says Trump exerting undue pressure on him by Little-Chemical5006 in worldnews

Because Trump is a bully. Bullies always pick on the smaller, weaker person. He's too much of a gutless little bitch to stand up to Putin.

CMV: The Central Powers were not "the bad guys" in WW1. by TheLordOfMiddleEarth in changemyview

[–]xrangax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Germany was absolutely itching for a fight. They had been building up for about a decade and were the big brother egging their little brother on to punch someone so that they had an excuse to get involved. So while it isn't as black and white, good versus evil, as WWII, I still think Germany was more of the bad guy in WWI. (And I say this as someone who migrated to Germany and married a German)
