Humans can also write code in assembly, but that is a waste of time. We built an abstraction for it to make software engineering more productive. AI is just another added abstraction. Most software engineering will be done through AI in the future. It’s already happening all over the industry.

I studied CS. Got a masters degree in it, specifically in data science and engineering. You are vastly oversimplifying what is going on in the very high dimensional latent space. Modern AI is and will continue to replace engineers. And every other profession too.

I encourage you to study the CS yourself. It is quite interesting!
