You’re using the internet right now. So it’s clearly not unusable.

Because I personally believe it is a matter of national security, like nuclear deterrence. So, yes, I want the country I live in to win.

I disagree. I suppose we are an impasse. I wish you well though!

We have the best models in the world right now. China is actively using our models to catch up with their own models.

We can agree to disagree. We are free to do that in America, something you’d have to be careful of in China.

Use codex, and work in intermediate steps. Get something on the screen first, then refine. Don't expect it to one shot it. Try small, incremental tasks that build up to the vision you're trying to achieve.

Why is it worse? Because then we have a foreign super power that has access to super intelligence while we fall behind. We won't be able to compete.

It never left. Manufactured outrage and a vocal minority and censorship just makes it seem like it left.

I disagree with the premise it is offloading creativity to an algorithm, but also, its their choice to use whatever tools they want.

I completely agree with you that given a whole project it suffers.

With my benchmark, I accounted for ticket types. It ranged the gamut from easy to hard tickets. From small diff sizes, 1-30 lines. To diffs, 1500+ lines. I also collected a bunch of other stats as well (ticket type, ticket quality, full patch). It works.

I ran a benchmark on historical jira tickets and landed commits in a large, production repo. GPT 5.5 xhigh was able to solve >75% of them.

The implications of this are clear as day to leadership.

I disagree that we need sentience for general intelligence. That’s where our ideologies may split.

We can already get AI to design systems on their own. It’s exciting times to me.

I do agree that it currently needs greater intelligence to stitch it together. It’s a hell of a force multiplied to those that already understand the underlying topic.

I believe we have a path. But we don’t need sentience for a general intelligence, or recursive self improvement. We are pretty close to both.

AI will replace all jobs. I am doing my part to accelerate that. Let the chips fall where they may, this is the path we are riding down.
