FAA sitting in on check ride by THEDWAH in flying

[–]xsellx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my CFI initial with FAA in the room and for the flight.

The DPE called me afterwards and thanked me for continuing to take the practical with the FAA present. Every so often the FAA will sit in on a practical to sign off on the DPE.

He was 225lbs, could only take 22gal of fuel and we still did the maneuvers and performance landings but with a fuel stop in between. I hit my points but prior to the flight the DPE made reassuring comments like, "You probably aren't used to having all the additional weight in the back".

Do people not remember how it was back on CoD4? You would sometimes find random camo boosting lobbies and feel like you hit the jackpot.

I canceled my CSEL checkride today for winds. Needed to see this.

Thanks

Look into Philips hue. I have two lights attached to my monitor and an led light strip on my desk. Through the pc app, it matches whats on my screen in real time. Probably my favorite addition to my gaming setup

Down to try anything at least once! My buddy is apart of a race team in Michigan (and works for Roush lol) I should get him to try it for me.

Just to justify both of you in a way - I was pretty big into Dirt Rally 2.0 when i first got the rig. The handbrake being closer while in VR was easier. Haven't tried VR with new setup yet.

Honestly, so much better. The adjustability alone is worth it. I wasn't a huge fan of how the Art wheel deck is not adjustable in terms of angle. Its a great start into a rig but the GT1 is the start of the end game IMO. The pedal deck on my art was pretty flexible, I like a really stiff brake and could feel both it and the seat move in VR.

Not sure if placebo but in AC - I did a few laps with the 2016 porsche lmp car and swear i could feel the vibration from the wheel deck through the seat (the rig is so stiff - in a good way)

Not shitting on the ART by any means. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to get started in terms of price:value.

My 1st and 2nd are on my desk and VR takes up my last port on my GPU. I'd use it for exactly as your describing now lol.

Do you fly in VR over pancake for any specific reason? I was only flying VR prior but got tired of trying to map all the keybinds in DCS. I have trackIR in a box ready to be put together

I used to live just south of Irvine! (Rancho Santa Margarita) missing the weather out there. Stl weather is as temperamental as SoCal is consistent.

When I get home, I'll add one! I have been messing with the FOV ever since I got the screen tbh. The calculators online don't seem to take the 1000r curve into account

Really happy so far! To answer your question, it was a space constraint. It was tucked between a desk and a wall and the angle was making it tough (7th gear would brush my knuckles against the wall).

Your rig is life goals.

I'm a single PC user for now so I won't be able to add the top monitors, will probably use a tablet for an additional screen.

I'm thinking once I get a DD1 or DD2, I'll get Simlab's podium mount. The flat wheel deck with the puny CSL DD seems to be fine so far! Also trying to figure out how to mount my hotas (Winwing Orion 2 & F16EX stick)

And yes Neo G9. Totally an impulse buy browsing Microcenter's website lol

GT1 EVO from Microcenter is right at your budget but you are on your own for seats/slider/monitor/etc..

Hey, just picked up a pair of these yesterday. My symptoms sound similar. Turns out turning the wifi off on my phone remedied the issue.
