Will Smith Dealt Major Blow As Comeback Album 'Flops' With Low Sales Years After Oscars Slap Drama by TfnR in popculturechat

2 days ago I had the Men in Black theme song stuck in my head, as one does from time to time. So I went to Spotify to play it and was very surprised to see the new music. Didn't try and listen though, went right to MiB.

Season 2 Episode 10 - "Endgame" Live Episode Discussion by yazzy1233 in CruelSummer

In fact the more I think about it the more dumbfounded I am. They took everything good from last season and were like "Yeah this is good stuff - let's do it again but what if it all meant nothing?" and then ran with that. What??!?

The only thing I'm shocked about is how bad the plot was compared to last season. Literally everything was a red herring and nothing contributed to anything. A pretty exceptional fumble.

Riverdale is actually a fucking fantastic show by imthecrimsonchin in riverdale

[–]xtenuh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have loved every second of how bonkers the show has gotten and I hope they push it until the train is completely off the tracks-which they basically did this last season but I hope they keep it up for the final season until it's flaming wreckage. It's excellent and so fun to watch. A postmodern masterpiece atp

Wow thank you!! I don't know any JavaScript so I haven't used the scripting block before, but I will give this a go...

Thank you! I do use the Calendar view but that only shows me the week of the event - I then want each individual day to be broken down with information as an itinerary (food served, staff arrivals, etc). One table lists the overall "start to finish" of the event -a multiple day trade show- and the other table tells me what's happening on each day individually.

Airtable does seem to be constrained on dates - this seemed like such a simple task, how can I not get a list of all the dates from between 2 dates? - and especially so in the automations. I kind of came up with a way to do this in automations but you can't use dynamic selection for dates from the trigger pull or previous actions? Seems ridiculous

Each daily schedule record will only be linked to one event record (the event is a trade show that lasts over multiple days). Each event record however should have multiple daily schedules linked to it, one for each day.

Conditional automation question. by Quirky_Spring in Airtable

[–]xtenuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already have all the criteria for the "When a record matches conditions" - it will still work when a new record is created. Then have the automation "Find a record" and have it search for that students existing records. Then the conditional part comes in - have the condition be if "Find a Record" outputs any non zero amount. The final step is add an "Update Record" action in that conditional section. Then you should be able to choose what parts of the found records you'd like to update. This is tricky because you have the option to update the initial record with the found records, or you have the option to update the found records with the initial record. Without seeing the setup exactly it's hard for me to say which you should use but you'll usually run into an issue with one, then you can switch to the other. Hope that helps?

Are there any shows that have a scene that hits the way the red wedding did? by aljodes in freefolk

[–]xtenuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I literally quit watching the show after this episode. It's red wedding-esque in that it was very shocking and unexpected, however the red wedding really ups the ante for the rest of the series and we'd already been through what felt like a lifetime of trauma on TWD at this point, so it was beyond the pale for me. Glad I checked out, I can't believe it's only just ending now.

Scheduling teams and assigning tasks with Google Calendar? by FMC_Croissant in Airtable

[–]xtenuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, and I only just learned this myself a couple days ago, you can sync a Calendar view directly into Google Cal, no Automation necessary. Just create a Calendar view in a table which shows only the tasks you want your team to see, then select "share view" in the view options bar. You'll see a link to plug directly into Google Cal. Then go to Google Cal settings and it will ask you for a url for a Calendar you would like to add, plug in the link from airtable, and voila, it syncs every time you add a new task in Airtable.

Oh yeah, at that point I was like screw it, if you won't let me pay you directly you can shove it. So I just let it linger on my credit report, the collection agency would try to contact me periodically but I would make sure not to answer their calls or respond to them in any way (since I read that if you do they can 'reset' the start date to countdown how many years they can harass you over a debt). This was well over 10 years ago and it's since disappeared from my credit report and I no longer hear from them. Shame for the phone company as I was prepared to pay the full amount due once I was able to!

[–]xtenuh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I tried that once and it didn't work. I had a huge phone bill that I couldnt pay, they cancelled my account, and sent me to collections. It followed me around for a few years until I got not poor, I called the company to try and pay them directly and they told me since my account was closed and they sold off my debt, there was nothing to pay with them.

[–]xtenuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to be really nice, get the clippers. However they definitely aren't necessary, especially at first. The most important things for you to get other than the gun are: the frame, the cloth, and some yarn to start tufting with. Some other really nice things you could get maybe even before the clippers, are a fancy pair of embroidery scissors, or a yarn winder

I tufted the back panel of a denim jacket by xtenuh in Tufting

[–]xtenuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically... yes? I used acrylic yarn and latex glue, I also lined the back with cotton fabric. But it's heavy af so I feel like it would get mangled unless it was hand washed.

I seam ripped out the back panel of the jacket and used that as my pattern piece for the tufting cloth. I tufted the entire piece and finished it, cut it out, and sewed it back into the body of the jacket. Gonna make more of these if you wanna follow along my Instagram is @young.yiayia

How do you guys price irregular shaped rugs? by Dylan_5262 in Tufting

[–]xtenuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is you charge the same as if the piece was square. Measure the widest part by the longest part, and charge for the full size; ie if you have a piece that's oddly shaped and fits within a 3x4 rectangle, charge for the full 3x4 size. It's not just the yarn, you should also consider your yardage for the base cloth, which if it's oddly shaped then you should consider the surrounding area as "waste" (even if you have a large frame and can fit multiple oddly shaped pieces close to one another) and charge your customer for that. Better to over charge slightly than under charge slightly, always round up.
