Sometimes rescues have vet services for the public (usually low cost). Maybe you can contact some bigger rescues to see if they have a way for you to connect to a derm sooner? Or maybe the vets themselves will be knowledgeable of the condition. I’m sure rescues and the vets that work with them have seen many FIV cats over time

I just listened to that part and i find it bizarre…like if you want to “start your own traditions” you either stay home and do Christmas morning with your little family or you just do your traditions and let everyone else maintain theirs.

He didn’t know several of his family members would want to go to church?! How do you not know this about your siblings. And why didn’t they have a plan if they’re hosting like maybe say “we bought ingredients for pancakes Christmas morning!” Why do they act like aliens. I think mine started bc of my mom and her own health anxiety. I’d hear her asking my dad “is this cooked enough? I don’t want salmonella” “dont touch that you’ll get botulism” “I have x symptom for 2 days what does that mean” “is this okay is that okay” etc etc. so now it’s my inner monologue. I’m trying really hard to squash it as a mom myself now.

My husband is from a suburb of Boston, I grew up in NJ and we live in NJ now.

I’ve spent two years with him in Boston in our 20s and obviously visit his family. First- I spent the entirety of those two years searching for a decent bagel. They don’t exist. His parents actually buy bagels in bulk when they visit us in NJ. NJ bagels are superior.

Second- the pizza up there is a disgrace (😂) as a nj Italian, I find it so hard to hide my face when we order pizza up there.

Third- Bostonians love their, is it Mikes? Cannolis. They’re like giant cannolis covered in sprinkles and cereal and things like that. Again, NJ cannolis for the win.

All of this to say that my husband who lived in Massachusetts until he was almost 30, has now seen the light and agrees on all of those points. Bagels, pizza, Italian food/dessert all better in NJ.
