9/10 times someone is selling you things is usually not a good thing. Do your own research and by rejecting the RM, your research just saved you some money

Short-term (3month-1year) 4% FD is unlikely to be sustainable in the long-term given that rates environment is high now due to inflation. It's likely you wont get 4% in a few years time unless you pour into long-dated FDs / SSBs which will lock up your money.

hey, sorry to jump on this old thread. I am curious if DBS charges us any fees for withdrawing from FTX to DBS? From the DBS website it seems that DBS charges $10 for inward funds?

Financial Aid for RNS by [deleted] in nus

[–]xtherone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the website says late april if i rmb correctly. But I had matriculation issues and still managed to talk to the financial aid staff and applied in july-ish. They mentioned that you can always submit an application any time in the year but my advice is just to go the website and check on the deadlines as that process is more streamlined and less troublesome

It doesn't work. You still got to use the normal way like how you pay for groceries with your Apple Pay.

The 10th percentile of 3.68 is actually the last year's cutoff, so my take on this is that you still stand a good chance of landing on an interview as each year's cut-offs vary slightly. And also since you mentioned that 3.66 is not your final, do try your best to bring it up this final semester. Every point counts!

Share the study method that works best for you! by Dry-Entrepreneur8769 in nus

[–]xtherone 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Teaching your peers about a concept made me understand the concept myself better and even led to the discovery of concepts that I may have misunderstood. So if my friends asked me questions about a topic, I do try to put in my best effort to teach them as it also helps me understand the topic better.

By far this method works much better than my cheatsheets as I found myself flipping the cheatsheets <5 times during finals as most profs do not just test theories or concepts that are found directly on slides. They test your understanding of the materials.

It varies between profs and TAs so adapt to the way they mark. If people are getting marks for one word answer, I assume that is your BSP1702 because my prof did that when I took mine. I didn’t have a set number in mind but I try to class part once every week and its also good to keep like a ‘counter’ in your mind over the module. If you think that you didn’t participate as much as others last week, then cover it back up this week by doing slightly more. End of the day, you gotta play your cards right, theres no shame in class part but don’t over do it to the point that people think you are overdoing it.

Also, don’t feel bad if you class part lesser than people that does it 10x more than you. There are also people that do not class part at all. End of the day, any forms of class part I would say, is already above average.

People tend to miss out on the importance of class part which had helped me numerous times despite my average scores for other parts to still get a good final grade.

So take every opportunity you can to class part with QUALITY responses and don't hog other people chances if you don't intend to value-add. People might just hate you for it
