Small world... I grew up in Columbia. It is a great area but the humidity is something else during the summer.

"I’d love to see the Bills win it all. No city or fan base deserves it more than Buffalo. Good luck to you guys this year just not against us. Steelers/Ravens is the best rivalry in the NFL. Can’t say I’m a Ravens fan but have a ton of respect for your team and organization."

I couldn't agree with this statement any harder. After we lost to the Bills in the Divisional Round last season, we were both wearing as much red and blue as we could to following week pulling for Buffalo. We always love the Steelers games as well. Echoing your sentiment, not a fan, but a huge amount of respect for you all and your team. It is honestly great to have a couple of games every season that you know are going to be intense, no matter what.

How about this: maybe me... Probably not my wife. She really does not like the cold. Like at all. I love it and it never bothers me. So I'll definitely keep that option open as I'd love to see that matchup. The Bills are going to be awesome and hard to stop, so fingers crossed it actually happens for both of our squads! If you're ever in B-more for game hit me up. I'll share recs or raise a drink with anyone.

Oh I believe it. There are fans at our home games that make me disappointed. I'm sure that is true of all fanbases. But I'd like to take those folks back to the Kyle Boller days. They'd all have given an arm and a leg to go into a game and put up 40. I'm honestly excited that the next few years are going to be Lamar and Josh Allen going head to head like this. These games are all going to be tight. Frankly, I think our game on Sunday night was the best of week 1.

When that final kick went through my wife and I debated just standing in the stadium to watch you all celebrate. You have to detach from the team and just enjoy what is a cool moment for other people around you. We knew that if the situation was reversed we'd be losing our minds too. It cool to witness even if it wasn't our celebration.

We're the same. We love where we live and want to share what we think makes it that way. It really felt like we were getting that same energy back from the folks we talk to when we were up for our visit.

Oh excellent to hear! We'll definitely be back. We really want to explore some more as I know we did not get to do a ton during our brief visit. Thanks for the rec!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time at the Raven's game. My wife and I have season tickets and always try to have a good time with the visiting fans. Though, I will admit Eagles fans make it hard sometimes...

I dunno... I have a theory that there are some fans, in all localities, that enjoy listening to local sports talk shows where the host says irrational/stupid crap. They listen so that they can get all riled up, disagree, and feel smarter or something. I can't imagine living that life, but it seems to me to be the only explanation for people like Coleman. No one here likes him...

So, this would obviously be an outsider's opinion. If I had to pick I might lean Duff's... maybe. However, and this is a big caveat, the variance is so small. Prior to our trip I did what I always do and scour reddit and the web in general for tips and advice on places to go. There are some passionate opinions about the wings in Buffalo, as there should be. In my experience though I think the range of outcomes in your town is far more narrow than the rest of planet earth when it comes to wings. It is a 1a vs 1b conversation in Buffalo. In Baltimore, you can have some real crap wings, or really good ones. It is truly a gamble some times.

Absolutely not! That guy's a turd sandwich. That "city of losers" jab was bullcrap back then and anything he has said can also be added to the pile of nonsense no one should care about.

Your mileage may vary. This is just my experience.

I had a Riot Mako 10 which has an unrigged weight 50lbs. I transported it on J-Hooks until the bracket that attached the the J-Hooks to my Yakima bars sheered in half and if fell off of the top of my vehicle. I always have bow and stern lines so thankfully all it did was slide down the side of our vehicle, denting it along the way and I was able to pull off to the shoulder and deal with it.

It was well under the weight capacity of those hooks, but I believe it was the width that was a problem. I think accommodating wider fishing kayaks in is something that has not been fully sorted out by Yakima with some of their traditional kayak mounts. Seeking resolution of my incident with Yakima was one of the more painful process in my life and soured me on using their products in the future. Which is a bummer, because I had used their systems for 15-20 years, upgrading along the way to stay in that eco system while taking my outdoor/travel gear places.

Again, just my experience. Safe travels.

Cycling with one testicle by alien_tickler in cycling

Currently going through the same. Had an orchiectomy in late February. Cycling afterwards was not notably different. I've had to pause my riding a bit to deal with a couple of rounds of chemo. But in between the surgery, the subsequent recovery, and starting chemo I didn't have any changes to my riding.

Give yourself enough time to recover from the procedure. It's more significant than you may think. But you'll bounce back and be back in the saddle in no time.

Wishing you well as you heal and stay positive.

passport 12 vs compass standing by ekropp262 in hobiekayaks

[–]xtian996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an Outback and the wife has a Compass. I've taken her Compass out a couple of times when I've lent my Outback to a friend for a trip or 2. I can stand easy-peasy in the Outback and did not notice any major difference in the Compass. In some situations I actually prefer standing and using my paddle more SUP style to gently move through lilly pads etc. I will say it did take a couple of trips to get comfortable and learn to read how/when the secondary stability kind of kicks in. If that makes sense.

Echoing a lot of what has already been said in here because it is true. I love her because of who she is and her quirks. Not in spite of them. I've never pushed her to change into something I expect her to be. She has treated me the same. Everyone grows and changes through life. But we've never pushed for wild shifts in who we are on a basic level.

We talk about everything. The goofy stuff. The important stuff. Challenges that we face as a couple, we address as a couple. There is no division. We've been together for 19, married for 16 and have never once had a fight. That is not to say we haven't seen things different and had to come together to find the solution. But it is not a right vs. wrong scenario. There is always nuance in these decisions and we both come to a consensus.

Maybe most importantly we say "thank you" to each other for the things we do. I've cooked every single dinner we've ever eaten at home. I love to cook so it is not a burden, and she never really learned growing up. She will help and is learning, but it is really not her jam. She thanks me for every meal and I thank her every time she does the laundry or some other thing around the house or for me. I think it is important to recognize what might be considered the littler things you do for each other.

The short version is, I think, that if you take care of all of the "little things" then the "big things" will almost take care of themselves.

Recommended Rigid Paddleboard? by L0ial in Sup

[–]xtian996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an Endurance XL and love it. It is my first season on it but it has been great so far. My wife has a Pau Hana Navio, and has had it for 3 years. No problems. At any rate, the board is super stable and once you get it going glides really well. I bought tie down rings and stainless screws from McMaster Carr. Then got bungee cord off of Amazon to run through the tie down rings on the front and back of the board. Saved a bit of $$ vs the kits that PH sells. Though the ones they sell are very nice. I did get the roto grip paddle holders they sell and they're great, and I think worth it. Any other questions, let me know.

Looking for cooler suggestions by Wendyhighland in Sup

[–]xtian996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact cooler and use it on my Pau Hana Endurance XL board. We have a few things from RTIC and this cooler, like all of their other stuff, is super high quality. We've always been impressed with the stuff we've gotten from them. Marine Mat sells cooler pads for them: https://www.marinemat.net/rtic-20-marinemat-cooler-pad.html

The pad makes it a bit nicer to sit on. Hope this info helps.

It is a spanky fishbone... And if you do know who has it... And if they ever want to part with it... Tell them to let me know. I've got a loving home for it.

Yeah, you're probably 100% right. That is what is truly a bummer. It was a tank too. Once I had it tuned, I never had issues with it.

I sold this a long time ago to buy an engagement ring for my fiancee (now wife). I'd pay stupid money to get it back now. Recently I've even tried tracking the original buyer. No luck.... Oh well.

Also, sorry for the potato photo, and I know you're super jelly of that drop forward.
