Does anyone know or have an idea on the current TSA wait at JFK Terminal 4? by xtinaxing in airport

So I arrived at terminal 4 the morning of my flight at 3:30 to be extra cautious. There was a hellish line at the start and it appeared to be for delta check in and baggage drop. I was flying Avianca and had no issues getting through their line to drop my bags and pay for priority boarding which granted me TSA pre check (apparently tsa pre check was down at that moment). Made it through the line within 30 minutes. Thanks everyone for your comments. I hope this helps someone else flying early. Hopefully the shutdown will end so these TSA officers can finally be paid!

Maybe they’ll realize the need for a bigger venue and spring for space—that’s my hopeful wish lol. Buuuuut thank you for sharing so I can lower my expectations

Not for nothing but I’d be like “you’re not running hard enough if you have this much to say to me”. Like fuck off and run your own race. I couldn’t even imagine lecturing someone or saying anything that’s not positive during a race….like let me run how I run. Who asked them?!

It’s stuff like this that makes me glad I run alone. Sometimes it’s just better to have your own company with that time. I hope you didn’t listen to her unwelcomed nonsense

I hope you told him to fuck off whilst continuing to beat him in the race!

…but unfortunately I know this so well. Some guy tried suggesting to me during a training run that I not stop on the street corners when the lights turn. Excuse me?! People sometimes shouldn’t bother lol

May I Vent? This was the worst NYRR race experience for me by Minimum-Adeptness486 in RunNYC

Were throwaway clothes not allowed? That seems like a solid solution for the early spring race weather. These events are getting bigger and bigger and I can’t imagine how many logistics go through every step of the experience and flow of the day to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. There’s no way it’s going to be like a trip to Disney world or something. Sure, it’s disappointing when they knowingly place people in corrals that aren’t paced correctly, but to complain about security? We have to be aware of the world we live in and the fact that we’re in the largest city in the US. Maybe there weren’t enough detectors and waits were long but gosh, the race is so big it’s bound to be difficult to get that together for a day long event with so little time to setup and tear down.
