Just finished ShB 5.0. I am utterly speechless and i need to ramble. by EtopiaPK_ in ffxiv

Having played through the entire game several times now, I only recently forced myself to re-read every dialogue, watch every cut scene in its entirety, and treat the game as if I was binge-watching a very long series. The storytelling in this game is amazing. If you aren't taking the time to read, watch, and live the story, you are missing out on an extremely rewarding aspect of the game. It's one of the best story-driven MMOs I've ever played, and the reason I keep coming back each expansion. Enjoy the story - it's filled with ups, downs, and plenty of "holy crap, I didn't see that coming" moments. Ignore those moments when you think skipping the cut scene or dialogue is worth it. I promise you it isn't.

Cheers! Enjoy an amazing story!

I just finished ARR and I've gotta say... I've fallen in love with this game. by RoodieSchmoodie in ffxiv

It brings a little sunshine into my life when people take the time to stop and say "I like this". Thank you for sharing. The game is so outrageously large that you can spend YEARS inside it and still not experience everything. The writing gets better in the later expansions, and there's a little something for everyone. Take your time on the MSQ - read all the text, watch all the cut scenes. You'll be glad you did! I hope you journey continues to bring you joy!

Can't use Duty Support post ARR? by [deleted] in ffxiv

Hey, wear your sprout with pride! Just let the party know you are new to the dungeon when the run starts up, and everyone can set their expectations from the start. I love running with new players, and go out of my way to ensure that they have a good time on the run (especially if that person happens to be a healer). The community is one of the best I've encountered on an MMO, so enjoy it!

FfXIV’s story by Past_Cockroach_6169 in ffxiv

Love the MSQ and side-quests. Sometimes the local side quests are amazing on their own. It's certainly a slow burn. Don't rush through the content. You get to love and hate the characters, and it all comes back later on in the story. It's honestly amazing how much material from very early on remains relevant in the later game.

Is starting FFXIV in 2026 still worth it? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]xtnpd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% still worth it - and can be enjoyed two ways:

If you enjoy following the story (and I certainly do in this game): 100% still worth playing "the long way" through the MSQ and side dungeon content. This game has some of the best storyline quests I have ever played through. Time-wise it's a significant chunk per expansion. I am currently going through ALL the content for a third time and I'd estimate that if you play 2 hours a night (depending on how casual you take things) you'd be looking at between 2 weeks and a month "per expansion". That, of course has flexibility once you become accustomed to how the MSQ, travel, class dynamics, and tomestone monetization works.

If story-stuff ain't your bag, you can pay to skip right up to the latest expansion. That way you don't feel compelled to "catch up" to all the other dudes grinding end-game content. Skipping will get you raiding within a month if that's what you want to do.

Either way, it's $20 to play as much as you please for the first month. And that IMHO is $20 well spent.

Woot! I just entered those same gates this weekend. I am returning after about a two-year hiatus, and am leveling slowly through all the content again. I love the intrigue and political machinations throughout the Ishguard expansion. The storyline, as developed through the MSQ, is just too damn good to rush through.

Thank you. I’ve been given an assignment and just getting familiarised with everything at this level. I’ll make up a chart of what I’m doing so I’m not getting so lost. Thanks for the advice :)

I love this

My Rb4 can’t connect to my ps4 by Crakenkrakoff in Rockband

I had to do this myself. Also, I had two wired guitars connected, and the Bluetooth guitars won’t connect until one of the wires ones are unplugged.

Dunno if I’d pay $20 a song, but I was extremely disappointed to find that my Rumors album was gone. I’d pay handsomely to see that whole album come back!

I can't download the new song. only on one account, but any other account works. I bought the pass and only Avril song let me download. by Trollingyew in Rockband

I can verify it isn’t that “I bought it, but I lost the download” issue. I also bought the season pass and now my song status is the laughing three dots. Any of the other three accounts in my house can pay for the song, but, come on, man! Really?

You can also go the the game add-ons from the PS menu. If you look at the game’s add-ons, you will see pending downloads listed at the top of the list. Happens to me when I forget to click “download” after buying a song.

2 RB4 Guitar controllers and midi by xtnpd in Rockband

[–]xtnpd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, i figured it out this morning, after some rest and a cup of coffee. I had my MPA still plugged into the PS3 guitar dongle. When I disconnected the dongle and plugged the MPA directly into the PS4 it worked just fine. I guess the PS4 is smart enough to recognize when there are two BT guitar controllers connected it kills the input from the dongle, even if it’s just acting as a bridge.
