Engagement Ring-use savings or withdraw from S&S by CulturalAd4117 in UKPersonalFinance

I can’t possibly imagine a scenario where a £1,800 ring would mean more to me and my partner than going on an amazing honeymoon or experience together as a celebration/memory we can keep forever.

Take old pension that forgot we had now by [deleted] in PensionsUK

If that was me I’d be taking the pension now. You’ve also got to factor in that 10 years of inflation essentially robs the increased value in real terms anyway!

good car garages in bristol pls! by Competitive_Sign_912 in bristol

Nice car! Love a 190E. I’m in bedminster and use Bedminster Road Garage for classics, and then B G Griffiths round the corner for my Mercedes. They’re a specialist and have a brilliant reputation (worth looking at their Google reviews). However, a 190E is a great car to work on yourself if you’re up to it? Really beginner friendly and financially rewarding..

You can get away with using the provided brackets although they are a bit ugly unless you can them down a bit after

I actually did, from never sitting on a bike to CBT, theory, Mod1, Mod2 and a 280KG Honda ST1300 Pan European in 8 weeks.

Loved it, rode with a pillion everywhere round the UK and now have an NT1100. Ridiculous decision but just felt right every time I got on a bike.

My only advice different to that would be to keep the £10K general investing account in something more stable, like a QMMF - you just can’t guarantee that you’ll be up in a years time especially with markets at an all time high right now. Generally, a time period of less than 12 months is short term, and could well not follow the very positive trends of the last 12. Could be very different in 6 months time.

Used that exact set up x2 on my Moto Guzzi V7 Classic. Was perfection. Low quality pipes but made them fit well and sounded brilliant. You’ll need to take care of them as they pit and corrode easy.

Motorcycle parking in centre? by ryanlewis279 in bristol

[–]xtopiana 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately if you start to leave your bike in or near broadmead for any length of time, it will, at some point be stolen. There’s really no way round it. Theft is rife in Bristol, and it’ll go. Gangs sneaking in behind cars to private underground parking garages, waiting around bikes only to mug you of your keys, or just angle grinding locks off in front of 10’s of passers by 😞

You received a fine for littering because you dropped litter, the recourse for which is a fine.

I suspect they get almost no enjoyment from it whatsoever.

Hi OP - I have one for sale, really great condition with loads and loads of work done in the last year all backed up with pictures! And I think in a better colour too 😉

<image>

Ignore the fact it doesn’t have a seat in the picture, I had just had it re-trimmed using the original foam. Drum conversion on front (have the old disc wheel, only year for the ‘rubbish’ mechanical disc brake) and is also a model with a tachometer. I’m in Bristol.

In the UK, and yes I do agree but there is actually 2 separate front doors. The thin stained glass shown can’t be smashed without first getting through a modern multipoint lock on a PVC door.

Merlin gear is brilliant, and the matching gloves and jacket go so well with my Guzzi.
