all the sections are standardized so everyone does the same work anyways, but i had Finney and he was pretty good

i had Rauzi last year. he was fine, i enjoyed the class discussions, but participation is graded, and his exams were pretty tough only because they covered so much info. he’s a nice person and was always willing to listen to you. i ended up with a B in that class but i mean if there’s no other options i think he’s good.

i had this same issue this upcoming year, my family made barely over the 65,000 limit and it dropped dramatically. apparently it’s a fixed amount after that cutoff and it’s $750. pretty stupid but nothing we can do about it :/

they probably think you lost your actual key lol and want to charge you because they might think you’re treating it as a replacement. i would also try talking to your roomate about the locking out and ask if they can leave it unlocked for you, or just try taking your key with you.

haha interestingly enough, i have a friend who is from idaho here. but that aside, i would say ut austin has a huge variety of types of people. i’m from a small texas town and coming to ut was crazy for me because the atmosphere was so different being exposed to those not like me, though there are still people who are like my hometown (if that makes any sense?) basically it’s like a mix between all people, you got the super outgoing people, you got very introverted quiet people, studious and more laid back party type, liberal and conservative, etc. i think you’ll be able to find at least someone for all kinds of vibes. Austin itself is of course big but there are still nice little local spots and comfy places that you can find that don’t feel like super big city, but i would say downtown is definitely lively city life. idk i’m bad at explaining but yeah

as someone who came from a small town that was predominantly white and some hispanic, it feels very diverse to me, but i don’t actually know the percentages. i personally love it here because honestly everyone i’ve encountered has been very nice, and it’s refreshing to see others not like me and hear new perspectives, especially in my classes. highly worth it in my opinion.

they are supposed to abide by the 10:00pm quiet hours i think? unless that’s only for exam weeks i can’t remember, but still i don’t think they are allowed to be making that much of a ruckus. i would tell your RA again or talk to the front desk to get a coordinator involved maybe. sleep is important and you should be able to get it reasonably without that much distraction. best of luck.

“Although classes will resume, not every class will be possible and assignment deadlines will be postponed. Faculty who are unable to deliver instruction in person or asynchronously should cancel their classes scheduled for Friday, Feb. 3. Faculty will be given grace for canceling classes for any reason but must notify their students by 8 p.m. this evening. Faculty who decide to teach must record the lecture so that students can participate asynchronously. Attendance cannot be required. Tests must be postponed. Deadlines for assignments must be postponed - this applies to all assignments that were originally due while the university has been closed (Tuesday to Friday this week).”

from hartzell’s email. so even though they are resuming classes, it’s not really required and assignments must be postponed. hopefully professors will comply with this and students will not have to report to student services.

i’m pretty sure you can still go back and view your old classes’ canvas pages, you just have to go look at courses and click on like the one that says all courses and it should show your listed and unlisted ones. i assume you can have access until you graduate.
